Why Don't We Spend More On Free Agency?

cause Arthur is really could at stretching a dollar and not just spending to the cap

but you see what that has got us thus far

to be honest a lot of the free agent moves don't pan out

Blank, like the Braves, is gonna spend big for someone bright and sparkly to fill the seats in the new stadium. I would be suprised if we dont go big on a playmaker between now and when it opens.

Because big name FA's are grossly overpaid and not worth the contracts they get. When was the last time that a super bowl winner was built around expensive an expensive FA acquisition (or acquisitions)?

The Packers (Reggie White), Saints (Drew Brees) and 1999 Rams (Mashall Faulk) are the only ones that spring to mind. The list of big name FA who failed to improve their teams is much longer, and includes some guys who were considered the best in the NFL at their positions and totally busted its new teams.

Marshall Faulk was a trade.

We've spent big when we were ina position to. We haven't been in that position for awhile. We still may not be.

We need a lot of good guys. Not one great one.

That said I wouldn't mind spending most of it on Mack and osemele...
