Atlfanstckndenver
Playoffs or not, one thing that would most definitely make this year feel much better would be getting that win against scam and the panties. Icing on the cake would be to knock the crap outta him in the process. We'll see though. As op said, there's room for optimism next year regardless of what happens now. Tuggle'2
Quinn's entire philosophy was going to require a year or two no matter what IMO. Everyone, myself included got excited and expectations grew larger than they probably should have been. I'm just back to how I felt in preseason and first part of the season again now. I argued with a few people about whether Quinn was a win right now move or a small rebuild guy brought in to form a strong foundation and fundamentally sound team built for longevity. I think and thought the later.

It will affect their play...They are also a long-shot for the playoffs...Uncertainty on the coaching staff too....Much like when Smith was here around this time last season...The O-Line especially.... Except for Matthews, no one else is a lock to return...Maybe Levitre..Confidence and security mean a lot..I think it goes bad early for this reason...., but because of Panther injuries it's a littel closer... Cam rests early..

Even moreso than a lack of O-Line and speed at WR.Also: the rebuild process with Ryan--may take longer because of a possible change of scheme...Rookies won't help much....Maybe a 1st round WR who has some juke-ability to gain separation.., but they cannot select another one of those for a long time now.. 4dabirds
I have to say that I feel good about the upcoming season to for some of the same reasons. I have been rather disappointed like everyone else this year, and like many, I've wanted Shanahan gone. I do believe if Shanahan is fired, it will be because players like Ryan and Julio don't think they can achieve success with him, so that situation will work itself out one way or the other. As for the defense, I think it will improve with the draft and some key FA acquisitions, and I don't know if TD will be in on those decisions. I also believe that the Falcons will find some more OL help, at least I hope. I think next year will show some significant improvement. I certainly don't believe that the organization will just stand pat on what they have at the moment. In some ways the Falcons needed this bad season instead of a mediocre one, as there has been and still is great need for more talent in the trenches, and this season like the last and several before it shows that this team is still not up to the task...A mediocre year might have convinced some that TD in company had solved some of the issues that they still have not been able to find a solution for. Guest facelessman07
For a few of us the season didn't "suck" since we knew, regardless of the 5-0 start, that this team was not a contender. Rather, we just wanted progress, and defensively, we've gotten it
