MACK4ttACK
Well, we have new coaches and very similar results. Soft play. No heart. What about our last years Oline coach? They did have heart.Alford gave up -- straight gave up -- on the long TD This is a coaching issue. There is no rational way to frame it as a talent issue.we've had 2 different coaches with the same results. Smitty got us to the conference finals. But he got worn out and made huge coaching errors at the end of it.It's a bit ridiculous for you to point out obvious coaching issues that TD did not have a hand in.Who decided to play SJax instead of Freeman? What's the reason for this abysmal season? It's not defensive talent. Who wanted Shanahan? COACH DAN QUINN.Wow dude you are so biased against TD.What's wrong with him you don't like vegetarians? You think having a cool haircut is too metro? You think riding bicycles is for wussies? Dude the talent is there to perform better than LOSING 6 of the LAST 7 GAMES. What happend to the talent compared to the first half??? Did we suddenly lose half of our star players? NOPE. ITS COACHING.It's the cumquat Shanahan that screwed us. Guess what? HES A COACH. JDaveG
Some good points in there. But ... you make it sound like good drafting is common sense. Given accurate info, a reasonable IQ and proper motivation, most people could learn to be good at it. Maybe. But I think some people are phenomenal at it. And you and I would be unable to identify those people. If you can find them, that's a home run. However, I agree with stockpiling picks. Since you're fighting uncertainty, you need to give yourself more chances to be right. More lottery tickets means a greater percentage that one of them pays off big.But the clearest, most undeniable conclusion is this -- Dimitroff had 8 years. That's plenty long enough to see how your long-term bets pay off. And the end result is not good. We may not have found the GM we're looking for yet, but we have eliminated 1 of the 8 billion candidates alive on the earth, cuz TD ain't it.I don't mean it's common sense. I simply mean it's not an innate gift either. It requires a lot of knowledge and hard work.I don't think Dimitroff is an idiot and I don't think he's lazy. I do think his draft philosophy and general approach to team building is bad.

We aren't like the Seahawks in which we are willing to admit to our mistakes. The situation with Sjax is the same reason why we had to march Ray Edwards out there over and over again even though it was obvious he sucked. And frankly Sjax wasn't that bad. Our run game just sucked. Edited December 16, 2015 by BLM

They make everything better. Just look how the team has improved under TD each time we got new coordinators.
SkerFalcon8710
I'm tired of this whole "Mr. Blank" thing. I don't see anything the man has done for our team to warrant the title. To me, he is just "Blank."Ok plow
ukfalc
If we keep playing musical chairs with the coaching staff every year, it's no wonder we struggle to build. How do you build an OL or Defence when you keep changing coaches and systems every 2 years or so. You draft players to fit a system and then change systems/staff so they no longer fit.We spent years drafting for a 4-3 system, then did a 180 and wasted the best part of 2 drafts on defensive personnel for Nolan and his stupid hybrid system, and now we are picking for a new 4-3 under. The OL has suffered from the same issue. No front office can succeed in that scenario.Choose a staff, choose systems, show some patience and take the time (3+ seasons at a minimum) required to build something strong and sustainable. Without patience and continuity we have no chance.
