Lack Of Coaching, Lack Of Talent, Or Both?

Recommended Posts

So I have been wondering... Is it a lack of coaching, lack of talent, or both that the Falcons have been cursed with as of late.

I keep hearing oh we need more talent this and more talent that, and then I look at teams like the Patriots who still manage to make the playoffs even when their stars go down, and that debacle of a year when Hernandez and Gronk were unavailable. The Patriots normally manage to find a nobody, or has been and turn them into a somebody...

Have any of our players been coached to their max potential? I ask this because when John Abraham left he went on the the Cards and did great things, yet in contrast a lot of players we release stay free agents or barely make the roster anywhere else.

All we heard about at the start of the year is how great our coaches are. For the majority, I think we have some good ones

But the talent sucks

Lack of coaching, lack of talent(TD), no heart, no passion, no self esteem, lack of talent, no motivation, no balls, no identity, no courage,no brains. Straight up soft as Falcon shitz.

No heart, no brains , and no courage = we need a trip to the wizard of OZ. Wish I could be a photo shop of them on the yellow brick road.

It's both

I concur but would add the the mix is different at each and every position

ie interior Oline 75% lack of talent --25% lack of coaching

Tackles about 50/50

TEs --I have no clue

I know that under the present conditions many will not agree But I think there is adequate to more than adequate talent at the key high profile positions ie QB, RB, FB WR

Defense DEs about 50/50

DTs got the talent do not understand what's going on there

LBs need major talent infusion

I'm OK (just ok) with the DBs

As for players that have been "coached up"

I think the DL has played much better this year and the young guys have shown us something. I think Ricardo Allen has been a bright spot. I think patrick diMarco has been fantastic.

Our problem has been specific execution issues on a handful of plays a game. It's not like we've been consistently dominated or embarrassed week to week. Instead, we're playing every team we see just about equal and then making 1-3 game-killing mistakes. That's an execution problem.

TE is strictly a talent problem. Tamme is a nice TE2. If he's gotta be your TE1 and see any sort of major role in the offense, youre gonna be running uphill.
