When Should The Atlanta Falcons Consider Matt Ryans Replacement?

We can all agree that this has to be the worst season of Matt Ryan's NFL career thus far. His mental errors are up, turnovers are up and maybe we can attribute that to a new coaching staff and scheme. But that is still no reason to completely write him off or say he doesn't have anything left in the tank. QB's have good years and not so good years, but I still have to wonder, as he closes in on a decade in the league, when will an APB be put out on his likely replacement? Thoughts?

After the Tampa game if he's still playing like garbage. If he miraculously gets back to what he's capable of, I'll kiss his bare *** at his winning a game Presser.

I was saying if he turns it around, but I have been looking at him the past 4-5 years. He has been on of the problems. He's a solid QB, and a stand up guy. It's just time to move on.

A "potential" replacement...NOW! I don't need a round 1 guy. However, someone in rounds 2-5 that can be in the mold of Brock Osweiler, Andy Dalton, Derek Carr, Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins or Tyrod Taylor. None of those guys I just named were 1st round picks. Carr and Dalton were the only 2 expected to be "the guy" when they kicked off their rookie year. I believe Russell Wilson got the start b/c Flynn and Jackson sucked. It is possible to get a guy that you don't have to pay big money to. That guy can be locked up for 4 years at a relatively low cost and if you hit, he could provide stability at the QB position past the last year on Ryan's current deal. Even if you miss, look as though you are trying versus letting Ryan play out his deal with no real #2 QB and hoping we haven't seen the best of him.

I get that Ryan has been "great" for your organization. That doesn't mean you get to play below your own "pretty high" standards for the last 4 years of your deal and hurt the team. All the while receiving every penny when you are not close to living up to it. I don't believe in the school of thought that says "you earned it" so just ride it out.

Typical Falcon fans...throw away our best qb in franchise history because of a slump while learning a new offense that's really not suited for him. An offense that Steve Young is surprised Ryan in running fairly well in his first year.

So long as he stops trying to force throws to where he has admitted should had happened..all will be fine.

Man up pansy fans this too will pass.

This post is pansy. The best has yet to be chosen for us. This franchise has not accomplished much, so why are you attempting to point him out as the best QB in our history?

We should always have a developing good backup 2nd string QB in the pipeline that can potentially can take over

like the packers did getting Aaron Roders while Brett Farve was clearly the starter. I can't even remember the last time we had a good developing backup QB on board in the last 20+ years

PFF Top 5 QB in 2015 so far.

I think PFF doesn't contextualize errors when evaluating performance, which is actually a good thing. PFF probably sees what I see: a QB that is making a lot of GREAT plays, but then making some errors here and there. It just so happens that the errors occur at the worst possible times (right when we need the points).

I was saying he needs to turn it around by Sunday's Tampa game or we consider a replacement. And if he gets it together next week, after his weekly Presser, I'll be so thrilled, I'll kis his bare azz in front of the cameras. (That's how sure I am that he won't turn it around)

There are some who would not be satisfied with any Qb we draft. One absent skill set and he's 'garbage'. One 'off' game and he's nothing but a backup. It's all been stated on this Forum before. Ask every team in the league and see how Matt Ryan is regarded... but, then, if it was favorable... some would still not believe it.
