Our Future!

I agree, I think Irving is a key in FA. I would like for us to get 1 legit OL in FA and draft another by 3rd rd. I would also like to get a WR in FA. I would prefer a possession type for WR#2.

Personally I would like the draft to go Safety, MLB, OL. That being said I like the DTs that are projected early and IMHO we need a TE. But not another project. So not sure how we do that with limited picks this year.

In all seriousness I think we could use an upgrade at

SS

C

RG (Chester is grey)

MLB

OLB

DE

And MAYBE a WR

So all of my fellow fans who are some free agents/draft picks we could look at?

I'm hoping for Irvin for one.

FA

Bruce Irvin: Pair him with Beasley. Thing-1 and Thing-2.

Alex Mack: He knows the blocking scheme and he is just plain good. Wisniewski is a good alternative.

Stephen Hill: A replacement for Hankerson.

Drop

Tyson Jackson: I like his run stopping but not his contract.

Roddy White: If we are not using him, drop his contract.

Bierman: He has played well, but he is not much.

Goodman: If he has not made it by now, it is time to say goodbye.

Moore: His injuries are just too much.

Keep

Schofield: He is productive and a huge locker room leader.

Long: He is recovering from a knee injury but I want to see him compete with Asamoah for OG.

Wheeler: He is playing WLB, but I like him at MLB.

Draft

1. A'Shawn Robinson: He is a foundation type player. He will stop the run as a rookie, but his pass rushing skills will make him a lot of money at his second contract.

2. Tony Collins: He has played Safety, CB and LB. This guy should be paired with Allen.

3. Jamie Collins: He is perfect for the WLB position. He is smart, fast and an excellent wrap-up tackler.

4. Jake Butt: He is a Harbaugh TE. Enough said.

These are the best likely FA in my opinion

Kelechi Osemele, OG Baltimore

JR Sweezy, OG Seattle

Stefen Wisniewski, OC Jacksonville

George Iloka, SS Cincinnati

Tony Jefferson, SS Arizona (RFA)

Vinny Curry, DE Philadelphia

Jacquies Smith, DE Tampa Bay

Olivier Vernon, DE Miami

Derek Wolfe, DL Denver

Malik Jackson, DL Denver

Derrick Johnson, LB Kansas City

Bruce Irvin, LB Seattle

Marvin Jones, WR Cincinnati

Rishard Matthews, WR Miami

Kamar Aiken, WR Baltimore

Think we really need to grab a SS, WR, LB, and a DL in FA. Cincinnati and Miami are in tough situations with their cap room, Miami because they don't have much and Cincinnati because they have so many people to resign. This is a bad SS class in my opinion, same with DE so we must grab one of each in FA.

SS - Would love Tony Jefferson because Arizona has a stacked Safety core but they will likely tender and match any offers. George Iloka is just an great player too, he's almost a priority at the right price though.

DL - Derek Wolfe and Malik Jackson would be nice additions and I doubt they can keep both especially with Von Miller. Olivier Vernon may not be able to be retained in Miami, and he would help out tremendously. He and Vinny Curry would be great for us and Curry will likely be cheap.

OG - We must sign Kelechi Osemele at all costs, he's a great player and would fit our scheme perfectly.

LB - Bruce Irvin, I mean I like the guy but he's not a priority guy for me. He will be 29 halfway through next season. Derrick Johnson, another older guy but he's still playing amazing. Might command too much money though.

Fill in the blanks....

FA Signing:

1. Kelechi Osemele

2. Olivier Vernon or Malik Jackson

3.

4.

Draft:

1. Myles Jack, LB UCLA

2. Bucky Hodges, TE Virginia Tech

3.

4. Mike Matthews, OC Texas A&M

7.

The guys I included are staples in my opinion as they can make an impact for us right away. It's the rest of the puzzle I have difficulty figuring out.

I'm with you but I'd look on the roster or draft for a #2 WRer.

If some how Jalen Ramsay fell to us I'd off load 25 in a heart beat.

I'm with you on the OL though in FA I so want Alex Mack if available it know joke I'd pay him and notblink an eyelid, its him or Osemele for mine either one solidify the interior big time.If I had to have one its Mack for me.

A-TowN, nice post.

I never mention Vinny Curry because I really don't think that Philly will let him walk. That team has been bled and I don't think that the owner will allow another talented guy to walk out their doors. Irvin is only one year older than Curry. I see him as a more likely FA signing.

Wisniewski is a good choice, but tell me why you prefer him over Alex Mack. Osemele is a good idea, but I truly believe that the Center position is the weakest on the OL. If we have to spend on a FA OL, I'd like to see us go Center.

I think Wisniewski would be a great pickup. He's not as good as Mack, but he would cost a quarter of the price. He doesn't do anything exceptionally, but he does everything well.

I think we could do with a new kicker for next year too. Not sure I would necessarily draft one, though.

I think if they resign Curry it's a sign they don't like their former first round pick Marcus Smith. But I will gladly take Olivier Vernon or Malik Jackson over him should they become available. Would easily make Tyson Jackson that much more expendable.

But I like Irvin I just think he's going to want a nice payday where as Curry is more of an under the radar guy. And I like Alex Mack, don't get me wrong I would take him over Wisniewski but he is going to ask for a lot where as I would rather put that money towards a younger player such as Osemele.

I think our priorities in order should be:

Kelechi Osemele

George Iloka

Vernon Olivier / Malik Jackson

Alex Mack

Bruce Irvin

We won't be able to sign all of them obviously but if we can get 2-3 of those guys we would be set. I would rather get 2-3 of those guys then try to grab Wisniewski at half the price of Alex Mack.

My top guys in FA for us go like this.

1.Alex Mack we need leaders upfront the mentioned is proven and for me he'd give Ryan that comfort level and Ryan can go back to be the Matt Ryan we all know.

2.Michael Kendricks if he's a FA

3.Olivier Vernon I think he'd solidify the DE position an gives you pass rush at the sametime without losing any size or speed upfront I'd take him ahead of Irvin as I see him as a 3 down guy who can play run & pass.

4.Kelechi Osemele I think he'd be my 4th choice going on a needs based FA I believe he's a great fit has great size and can move.Has been in the ZBS so the fit here is good for us.

If I could get a 2-3 of that combo I'd leave FA a happy fan.
