Ok guys here's what I know. We all know this is recruiting so tomorrow all of this might not mean anything. Eason is staying and extra night in Gainsville on his own dime. He will head up to Athens sometime tomorrow.

Word from 3 different sources is he told the players and staff he is flipping but that might just be to keep pressure of him. If it's not out that he's flipped by tomorrow night I would feel safe he stays with UGA.

Again this could all change in a hour but this is what I know as of right this minute.

I have a hard time after following Jacob's recruitment and knowing enough about his family that he is going to visit Florida by himself and then commit to them. they have handled his recruitment much better than that. I would expect him to go back and discuss with his family, but he won't be decommitting and committing without discussing it with his family first and even then they will be in Athens for the Gala to meet the new OC. Time will tell what happens here. Thanks jgator for the florida information you have.

Here are some other guys visiting:

Tyler Clark is visiting Tennessee.

Julian Rochester is visiting Louisville.

Randrecous Davis sets an official with Louisville.

Todd Grantham is working very very hard to take a few of our commits. I was told he has turned up the heat on a bunch of guys.

Eason is a boom or bust to this class, we have to have a quarterback or none of this matters for a while, he would be the known starter from day 1 and if we lose him, there aren't many options left for this class unless there's an unknown juco we'd have to go after. Hopefully kirby knows what he's doing by staying on w Bama. I don't mind losing a few defensive players or whatever, he's the only irreplaceable recruit we have at the most important position for us. Better freaking make him stick!

All these rumors are driving me nuts. I should take a break until Kirby is actually introduced and we get substantial info on who the coaches are and how it will affect the class.

the rumors regarding recruits take them with a grain of salt.. until the new staff is replaced other teams are going to pounce on them like a lioness, but our coaches will get their shot.

Eason's trainer believes Florida is only a backup plan for the QB

Current Georgia commit, five-star quarterback prospect Jacob Eason is currently on an official visit to Florida. Obviously the news has got Bulldog fans everywhere feeling nervous about the possibility of Eason changing his mind and attending school in Gainesville.

The quarterback's high school coach is firm in his belief Eason will stick with his Georgia pledge and now Lavelle Durant, his personal quarterback coach, has come out and said the same.

“He’s going out there basically to see if he can find another place that he’s comfortable in calling home in case things do not work out in his favor at Georgia,” Durant said, according to Dawg Nation. “He, of course, took the Florida trip before they named Kirby Smart as the new guy at UGA. He didn’t want to be at Georgia when or if they brought a Chip Kelly in. That doesn’t fit his style of play. He wants to see if Florida is a safe number two in case things do not work out at UGA.”

”I think they are basically trying to protect (Jacob) in the event that anything else happens at Georgia that they want to have a really good back-up plan.”

Durant would go on to say it would take "something catastrophic" for Eason to flip his commitment. Judging by the comments of those closest to the touted quarterback, it would appear Eason will eventually end up in Athens.

I don't understand why Jacob Eason would be committed to UGA for 4 months and sign a grant-in-aid - while having been a UGA "lean" for over a year - and then now he could not wait 7 days for Kirby Smart to officially take the job - decommit and go somewhere else? what is the f-ing hurry? I am sure Kirby Smart and whoever he already knows will be his OC would call Jacob Eason or reach out to him as the #1 thing they do - probably even before the press conference to introduce Kirby.

If Jacob loved UGA - the school - then he should at least wait 4-5 more days and talk to the new UGA head coach.
