Quinn & Ryan: Post-Game Babble

TBH neither one of them has anything to say that I would consider even remotely interesting or insightful at this point.

Typical coach speak from Quinn and politically-correct pablum from Ryan.

Correct. I listened to Quinn for :45 and Ryan for :18 and turned it off because neither has anything that I care to hear any longer.

Forget about Wr's, Rb's, Te's.... If this team is going to ride with Matt at Qb for the long haul, they need to invest in a oline for this dude to see the field. He has flaws which require him to have more time to see plays develop. NFL caliber is not on his sleeve.

You're one of my favorite posters, Gritz and I know you were a huge proponent of bringing in Quinn.

You think Quinn can right this ship?

Can anyone describe what they would like to hear that's actually a reasonable suggestion.

My play has been embarrassing to the fans and falcon organization. I take full responsibility for the bad decisions and poor throws I've made over the past 5 weeks. IVe got to get back to the basics and Kyle and I are going to have some long talks this week with the offense and get this sorted out before we lose another game and completely take ourselves out of playoff contention.

Truthfully, I'd have benched Ryan for one series after the second INT... Do SOMETHING to make a point. Then I'd demand that every team member give $5 to send back to Falconcheff to reimburse his Sunday Ticket this year...

You know that's what he said right? Everything except the playoff contention.

Just not in this exact words.

Lmao at the 2nd part. It's hard paying for crap. I agree.

First point about doing something g....that's to satisfy your emotional state more than a means to fixing the issue. And I think your payment for Sunday nfl ticket wants it fixed more than some temporary satisfaction of a 1 series benching. Plus we were still in the game so that's basically giving up and I know you don't want to see them give up.

Meh, guess so now that I think about it. To be Honest I didn't listen to entire thing. I think I turned it off with a minute fifteen left. Guess I wish he would be a little more animated sometimes and show some **** frustration. I know we can't do that though. Edited by Diesel_Bird

Yes and no about the emotional state. A one series benching would not be for punishment or temporary satisfaction, it would be for accountability. Sometimes accountability is more important than one drive, especially the way we've been playing. One drive, handoffs to... well fk, I'm not even sure who we could handoff to in this scenario, considering Coleman's fumbles and Ward's personal foul...

I know Matt realizes he needs to play better, he's a grown azz man. But that little bit of accountability may be what he needs to refocus, and re-realize it's not a "We'll get 'em next time" thing... It's a "YOU REALLY NEED TO START PLAYING BETTER AND STOP FKING AROUND WITH TURNOVERS" thing...

No reasonable suggestion here. Just show some emotion. Both of them. They look like a bunch of Vulcans up there stating the logical obvious crap week after week after week. How about Mike Ditka circa 1985. Get up there at the podium and be mad. He keeps saying that he "has to look at film". Heck, you were there man, standing on the sidelines. What did you see?!! I thought this guy was going to be "tough".

Then there's Ryan. After every interception he walks back to the sideline, ***** his helment, takes a sip of gatorade, sits on the bench and the look on his face is "so what, I'm a millionaire".

So a few people said show some emotion so I will use your post for that and then respond to your second paragraph.

I think it would be beneficial to see some more emotion but 8 years in I think we know by now that that's not Matt Ryan's style. That's a gift and a curse because emotions can make you play better or worst. We don't know which one it is for Matt. Emotions can make you do other stupid things as well I e. Dez Bryant.

I've never gotten the feeling from Matt that he doesn't care because he's a millionaire. That's pure speculation and quite honestly I'm not going to knock it because that's your opinion. I disagree with it though.

Not for this year TD...I do still have faith in Quinn but he obviously created a bad marriage in putting Shanahan and Ryan together. It doesn't work, and unlike a lot of people on here I don't have faith that it's going to somehow iron itself out.

If the Falcons continue to play poorly for the rest of this year then Quinn has to realize he made a mistake in bringing Shanahan here...or if Quinn and the front office determine that Ryan has somehow regressed on his own they need to start making plans for a new starting quarterback....either way Quinn has to let his ego take a back seat and admit that the plan HE PUT IN PLACE did not work.

If anything I think he is accountable. Who knows what route to take tho. The show of faith or the embarrassment route. I personally would stick with the show of faith route. I think Matt Ryan has earned that from his previous years, not embrassment. JMO tho

I think if the TEAM saw Ryan being held accountable, they ALL would/could possibly have pulled their heads out their arses...

I don't want to embarrass Ryan; I think accountability is best for the TEAM right now...

I don't think it's going to "somehow" work but if Ben Roethlisberger and Todd Haley can work it out, then Matt and Shanahan can. That relationship and offense was the absolute worst when it first started but they continued to work on it and make adjustments until they got the ship right.

We have to realize that we don't know what's going on or not going on in the background, when we can't see.

You may be right but I don't want you to think that people like myself think some sort of magic will happen.

We will have to agree to disagree. I think we have different opinions on what accountability is, which is fine.
