Julio's Reactions Say It All

On the pistol run to terron ward. After the play Julio looked agitated and confused with the play call.

After the Barr hit on Ryan that all but ended the game, you could see Julio on the sidelines talking to Hester with both agitation and disgust. He was gesturing his hands as if to show the routes ran then ended with the much needed i-dont-know shoulder shrug.

Julio goes to bat for Matt so i doubt he'd be disgusted with him. Roddy has been on a gag order, but when he did speak he criticized the offense for being too slow developing. My take is that Shanahan's routes take too long to develop. With pressure from the defense, long developing routes will always be defended.

Our key players do not like this offense. The connection with our offensive stars and Shanahan is as cold as our offensive production.

Matt hasnt helped, but when routes are clashing with one another and confusion fills the faces of all involved to me it's clear that Shanahan is the problem. This is not the match made in heaven a lot of you thought it would be. We have a quarterback who is being restricted thus casuing chaos all across the board.

Julio was mad and rightfully so.

But Ryan made the pre snap decision to throw to Ward and the defense knew it. Once a defense shows blitz, Ryan will scan the field pre snap for the best quick throw and sticks with his decision no matter what. That is very predictable for any defense. Actually there are baiting him into those plays.

The Vikings said it all. Take away his first read and he struggles. That's what Mike Zimmer said. Blame Kyle all you want but Ryan is the one throwing dumb ints.

You know, I never fully realized why we went all in to trade for Julio Jones. But after all, Matt Ryan needs an allpro first read to make his completions, purely based on the individual class of the receiver. He had Roddy but he started to fade a bit even some years ago. Tony G was about to retire.

The Julio trade was not made to open up the playbook, it was made to keep a simplified playbook.

Ryan completely PANICS under pressure. He doesn't have the ballz to stand in the pocket and deliver the ball. I've watched him prematurely leave the pocket many times the minute he feels pressure. He's done...stick a fork in him! Falcons better bring in a QB to compete for the starting position next year.

Said it many times, watch his body, face and eyes under pressure. It is never someone who is in control of the situation. His eyes always were shouting panic as big as they get. But now his head turns into a tomato too, it is hilarious to watch. That is how someone looks who realizes he is in the wrong place.

Lol. That isn't Ryan's problem. He has plenty "ballz". He is just not grasping the new system as seamlessly as he probably expected and is playing like an idiot.

Agree. I think frustration shown by Julio (& Roddy's comments a few weeks ago) were directed to Shanny. I do not think Shanny's offense fits the personnel especially Matt Ryan. So the its either change a bunch of personnel or the coordinator.

My problem with Shanny is he seems to be to arrogant to change. Noy=t major changes......Just run quick tempo in certain situations, let Ryan call the play after determining def; throw quicker routes etc.

And finally, you cant have a talent like Julio and not get the him involved in the offense with quick slants, screens with a mattering of deep routes.

Lmao try standing in to deliver a pass with Anthony Barr coming in at you untouched after 0.5 seconds.

Also:

Matt Ryan is playing like ****, but let's keep it real. Dude's a warrior.

Top 10 offense and Shananhan is terrible?

Last week people were advising stats didn't matter. Now that has changed and stats are everything? Come on. Make up your mind. If you are going to tout a top 10 offense, Ryan led that and also had the longest active 250+ yard consecutive streak at 17 that ended today. He was also the only QB to throw for 250+ yards in every game this season until today when he threw for 230.

If you are going to use stats to support Shanahan, you can't discount them when debating about Ryan.

That has been the formula Carolina has used against Ryan for the past couple of seasons. Ryan is a good QB when he can stand in the pocket with time to throw but if you constantly pressure him, he will fold like a lawn chair.
