Guest Dirty Bird Nation ®
Rewatch his throw and then watch some of the throws Carson Palmer made sunday night. There is a clear difference. Ryan has to get a lot of air underneath his throws and throw it at a 45 degree angle to compensate for his inability to put force and velocity in his deep balls. Someone like Palmer is able to actually zing it in there.http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2015112209/2015/REG11/bengals@cardinals#menu=gameinfo%7CcontentId%3A0ap3000000586186&tab=recap
EJmusic 2,335
That was 64 yds in the air with folks around his feet. He can definitely throw it 60 but his footwork is all messed up.

Guest Dirty Bird Nation ®
idk if you're being sarcastic or not. I was just laughing at "zing it in there".He's able to put a lot of force into the throw which translates into greater velocity for the throw even if the object in motion has to travel a greater distance. XXVIII-III 1,220
#noodlearm. Couldn't even launch it to the end zone against Indy. That was a standard NFL QB throw...I'm a Ryan fan, btw. It's just the truth. He's a helluva good game manager that has great 4th qtr skills. BUT YOU CAN COUNT ON RYAN MAKING AT LEAST TWO HEAD SCRATCHING THROWS IN EVERY SINGLE GAME. THEY WILL EITHER COST US THE GAME OR WE FIND SOME WAY TO SURVIVE THEM.

Carson's footwork is clean every throw. Matt's has been shaky most of his career, but it has been downright terrible most of this year.

FalconFan1st 848
Notice how much better the protection is at that time. He had almost 5 full slow count seconds before he launched the ball. In fact in all of those, he got rid of the ball before 3 seconds but his protection said he had 5 seconds. Also except for that throw to Roddy, look how open his receivers are.... I rarely see his receivers that open anymore.

Nobody on this board has mentioned Palmer ever until this season.
Wjcorner 3,858
I've said this for a while, but people mistake arm strength with just how far you can throw the ball. Other QBs can put more velocity in throws as well which permits them to play without everything being absolutely perfect.
Guest Dirty Bird Nation ®
I love how this narrative changes depending on what qb is doing well each season. Nobody on this board has mentioned Palmer ever until this season.I'm using Palmer as an example. But since you're picking at the name presented instead of the argument presented, here's an example of Aaron Rodgers:http://www.packers.com/media-center/videos/Aaron-Rodgers-hits-Jordy-Nelson-deep-on-66-yard-TD/0c40e2eb-10a2-4ce2-be6c-685af1cb8c6eNow do you want to focus on the argument i presented or do you want to shift the subject to something else irrelevant? vel 32,259
So does that mean he needs a better QB coach or QB guru that is OCD about mechanics?I think so. I've said every chance we had an opportunity to get him one in the offseason. LaFleur looks like a hire to help Matt understand the offense, not help develop Matt. Most of the top QBs in the league have had a quality QB coach or "QB guru" OC. Matt hasn't. Flacco looked amazing with Kubiak. Then he was gone. Same with Carson Palmer with Arians now. Not everybody is Aaron Rodgers.

Karst41 5,761
Meh,,,,,,whole lotta yappin going on here.Good ol days was Bartkowski throwing end zone to end zone on two steps.Even better was Farve hucking bullets into the nose bleed seats, whichkinda sorta made Barts throws look like a floater. Guest facelessman07
Lol at these justifications. Gotta dig deep! Here's one: Matt Ryan can run faster than Joe Flacco at the present moment
