SaintsH8
The defense is not the problem. The only people who show up on offense are Julio, Mathews , and freeman
raysnill1
we just lost 3 out of our last few games to scrubs, games where the defense played well enough to get a W. I'm pretty sure sacks ain't at the top of his list

sdogg
I'm sick of this franchises stubbornness when it comes to sacks. It's clear they have drawn a line in the sand and want to go out of their way, to prove that sacks are nothing. This is all on TD. This is his philosophy
PeytonMannings Forehead
When Belichick was asked on an NFL survey to name the most overrated statistic, he cited sacks. To Belichick, the number of times the pass rush pressures a quarterback, forcing him to make hurried decisions, is more significant than a defense's sack totals....according to Belichick, sacks really aren't a number he cares about, one way or the other.Read"They do a good job defensively," Belichick responded when asked if he was surprised Buffalo had just 14 sacks. "I think that's a great stat for the media and the fans. I don't think that's really what it's all about."
PeytonMannings Forehead
From Rex Ryan: But Ryan insists sack totals don’t matter to him and shouldn’t be a point of emphasis for his players.“We don’t have to lead the league in sacks. We just want to win,” he said, via the Buffalo News’ Vic Carucci.John Fox:"I've said this before. Way too much is made of sacks, way too much. I don't know how else to say it.Marvin Lewis:"The pass rush is overrated by what people are saying," Lewis said. "If you look at the number of pressures, completion percentage is down, interceptions are up. Those are things that are important. Sacks don't win games. You can have 50 sacks every year, it has never equated to championship teams. Not once. vel
They aren't. We've held opposing offenses to 23, 17, and 17 points the last three games. That's a 19 point average over three games. We lost all three.

A Dog Named Brian
How many times does it need to be pointed out that Quinn's defense is about PRESSURE on the QB??? We've been doing that, offense has been our Achilles heel

bird backer
How many times does it need to be pointed out that Quinn's defense is about PRESSURE on the QB??? We've been doing that, offense has been our Achilles heelTotally agree! Offense (Matt Ryan) has put too much pressure on itself to perform and cannot perform under the self induced pressure so he chokes. He needs to loosen up, stop thinking so much and just play football. I'd love to see the offense having fun, but it is clear for all to see just how tight this offense is. Sidecar Falcon
What IS at the top of the list?I'm guessing that winning is. In order to do that we need to stop turning over the d@mn ball. That's top priority before anything right now.

Javader09
They aren't. We've held opposing offenses to 23, 17, and 17 points the last three games. That's a 19 point average over three games. We lost all three. Take away the 7 on the pick six and last 3 games less than 17 points a game and all the cap is spent on the offense.
