Matt Ryan hasn't been right all season. I'm curious if everyone thinks this has something to do with the OC and his play calling? Everything I read about Shanahan is not good and makes me think it just may be him. I feel like the first 3 throws of the game today to Roddy was Shanny saying in your face to everyone calling for Roddy.

I said..NE Offensive Coordinator, Josh McDaniels shoud have been head coach here, but nooooooooooooo...

This offense is not built for Matt. Quarterbacks have offenses tailored to their strengths....Manning, Rodgers, Brady, heck even Cam has an offense that is tailored to his strengths.

The Shanahan offense is outdated, easy to defend, but difficult to grasp for the offense. Shanahan leaves QBs a shell of what they were after he leaves a team.

I will never understand....EVER understand why so many of you wanted this asshat of a coordinator.

As soon as we huddle up, everything goes down the drain. The offense is a predictable, plodding POS.

Defense holding teams to 17 pts a game, and our offense cant do jack diddly.

The family offense requaires a scrambling QB who can throw deep for play-action....Interesting how this plays-out.. Somebody is going to talk..

Manzeil is a 1st round talent. Would you make that trade straight up cuz he's not getting another year there. Too many shenanigans and they've done everything they could to keep him on the bench.

Manziel in the dome could actually work, he would be mich better on turf than grass. Based on his talent, I would make a straight trade but his off field problems bother me.

I support any QB until it comes clear to me that this QB would never lead any team to a super bowl win. That happened in 2005/2006 with Vick, when it became obvious to me that he just does not have it to go all the way. Same happened with Ryan now, I have reduced the possibility of winning a super bowl with Ryan from 1% to 0% and as far as I am concerned, I would be happy if the Falcons gave someone else a shot.

Manziel a better fit than Ryan... even though the combo of he Shanahan already or would you be willing to jettison Shanahan too scrap everything and just build an Air Raid offense around Johnny?

Shanahan has to go no matter what.

Manziel with the Browns will never work. That franchise just simply sucks and even Rodgers or Brady would suck there. Manziel might have a chance with a team with great weapons and playing about 10 games each year in domes.

Will not happen though. Matt Ryan will play out his contract. Nobody in the NFL has the guts to part ways with their so called franchise QB whom they gave 20m/year. Heck even Cutler is with the Bears and the Chargers actually extended Rivers. Those teams, like us, the Bears or the Chargers are cursed for many more years to come.

So...

Couldn't make it work with McNabb...

Had one year with RG3 before that went sideways...

Nothing good came in Cleveland and he pointed to poor QB play...

Now it's not working in Atlanta with Matt Ryan.

At what point do you ignore the kid's last name and say, "Hey, maybe you're just not that good at this?"

Bingo!!

I hated this hire. Sadly, it will be Quinn's undoing.

Quinn will be ok, the defense is improving. the Colts last TD scoring drive they were stopped 3 times but penalties kept the drives alive. the D even had some big turnovers that the offense did nothing with

But it was Quinn that had to have Shannahan. He better know when to cut his loses. If not, Blank will cut him. PSL'S to sell.

if this doesn't turn around quickly, Blank will have a discussion with Quinn at the end of the season:

Blank: I have PSL's to sell. Would you like to keep your job?

Quinn: Yes I would

Blank: Mike Smith had to fire Mularkey to keep his job. You need to fire Shanahan to keep yours. I am paying Matt 20 mil. He ain't going anywhere.

Quinn: Shanny, you gotta go.

Defense is going to be top ten in yards and just outside the top ten in points allowed after this game. The defense has played beyond what anybody expected. Shame the offense is dropping the ball on capitalizing.

I almost willing to bet that this convo happens tomorrow.

people will look at this game where the defense got pretty good pressure, the DBs for the most part were very tight and we actually didn't get burned in the middle of the field as much as usual and charge it to a QB carving us up like Brady. and that PI on Collins was horrible.

yeah but every game the offense just shuts down completely for very long periods of time. no excuse with the type of players that are on this team. Yeah bone headed BS like that happens but i fully believe part of that is because he is trying to force ryan into a system he's not comfortable with instead of making a system that works off his strengths. shanadork is absolutely one of the leading reasons why this team is imploding in epic fashion.

Every game our offense has ALWAYS shut down for long stretches. Lol it's so cliche my son and I call it the "3rd quarter coma". We used to blame it on Mularkey getting conservative. Then it was Smitty not making adjustments. Then it was Koetter abandoning the run. Now it's Shanahan?

We've had 4 OCs, 2 HCs, and 1 QB. What's the common denominator?

Matt only plays well when it's desperate. When the pressure is on to score and score quickly. This is why the no huddle works. But recently he's actually playing worse under pressure.

And since when has Matt ever been a scrambling QB?

I dont know who thought this would be a good hire. It was a package deal with Quinn. It's the sole reason I wanted Teryl Austin and Adam Gase, because I could not fathom having Shanahan here when he had never done ANYTHING anywhere else he had been.

There's so much dysfunction with this offense. You can see it in our players' faces. They dont like the system.

Matt Ryan isn't perfect but he has shown to be consistently good, not great, throughout his career. It seems to me that the factor that is helping the run game but hurting the passing game is Shanahan.

MR has shown to be good with multiple OCs throughout his career. Shanahan does not have a history of having great QB play from his QBs. There are so many factors in this:

Maybe Shanny is telling MR to lock on JJ because:

He has no one else reliable to throw to.

Not enough time for MR to throw to others

Shanny is assuming his plan will work if people follow it, and does not think the plan is up to question.

At this point does it really matter? As fans we will go down with the ship, regardless if we vocalize our criticism or put on a happy face and assume the tide will turn.

I foresee an iceberg in the water and the Titanic Falcons and running straight into it.
