brown bomber
In May, 7 other teams besides TB tried to claim S DJ Swearinger: JAX, OAK, NYJ, ATL, BUF, PIT, BAL. Will see if any revisit again today.Retweeted by McClure

Monolith2001
I was a DJ fan when he was at USC but since getting in the NFL, he has shown he is too one-dimensional to be of great use in the NFL. He is a thumper and only that. He isn't as good as Willy Mo and perhaps only a marginal upgrade on Ish. Since he can't cover his bed with a sheet, he is useless as a FS. FentayeJones
Who would you rather have at this point... Swearinger or Godfrey? I think I would lean towrds Swearinger.

Godfrey is that 53rd man. He's always the first to go when we need to add someone. This would be no different.
hjerry
Swearinger has more upside than Godfrey. What's he like on special teams?I seem to recall hearing that he was useless on ST. I believe the report was that he thought that he was too good for ST, b/c of his draft pedigree, which is part of what led to his release from the Texans. Swearinger was waived because he refused to play special teams.KPRC is not a typical outlet for breaking news, but this makes sense. Swearinger was always a hot head on and off the field, which made him a poor fit for the culture Bill Belichick disciple Bill O'Brien is trying to build. An unwillingness to help on special teams when you're struggling as a safety is not acceptable for O'Brien.Related: Texans Source: James Starks on TwitterMay 12 - 9:09 AM

AndySG
Matthews is an interesting guy. That Super Bowl performance was great, but he did nothing before and has done nothing since. Has the measurables!

BigNasty1985
Swearinger is still young and has upside. I would take him on for sure.
Clark Kent™
I'd ask Swearinger straight up if he will play ST or not. If he says no then screw him. Dude is wack job if he thinks he is too good to play ST's. Matthews i'd definitely take a shot with. Could use another giant WR on this squad who can go up and win a ball.
