One Undertalked About Aspect Of This Past Game

And this is something the Quinn needs to talk to the NFL about but The niners kept hitting Ryan around the knees and they were never called for it... By rule you can not go low on a QB ( the Tom Brady rule) but the niners kept doing it and were never called.

There were AT LEAST 3 occasions that they went low on him where a penalty should have been called. Yet Wheeler blast Gabbert with a totally legal hit and he is flagged... Yeah I know the falcons should play better to overcome the officials, and I am not saying that is why they lost but it is hard to compete when you get called for legal stuff and the other team gets away with multiple by rule illegal hits...

Quinn needs to make a big deal about it with the NFL.

I cant comment on the low hits to Ryan without rewatching the game but I do remember the Wheeler hit and it definitely wasnt a legal hit, he smashed Gabbert right in the jaw and I expect he will be fined.

Eh, The way I saw it Wheeler planted his facemask in Gabby's upper chest. He only made contact with the bottom of the facemask because he took gabby to the ground and slid upward. If he'd just hit him and let him fly back on his butt I don't think he would've contacted his head at all.

For the record, I don't want to see Ryan get hit like that but, I did enjoy seeing one of our guys laying a hit like that.

The way I saw it the only reason he made contact higher is being he tucked his chin right before impact. To me in looked had he stay in that position he would have been square on the chest but as soon as he tucked the chin and braced for the hit the strike zone changed.

the rules are clear: you are legally allowed to hit Matt Ryan anywhere with no repercussions. hit him high, fine, hit him low, gold star for you. blast him while he's sliding ... awesome sauce. the thing that concerns me more is how our D-linemen get held, tackled, tripped or whatever with no call but Person got blasted by a NT and the NT hit him so hard even he fell and Person was called for holding. Quinn has to start putting together tapes to send to the NFL officiating offices cause it's getting ridiculous now.
