andrews31cain21
I'll admit i was on the get rid of Koetter bandwagon last year, but now as I look back, we made a mistake. We had such a high powered offense last year, that lacked a running game and a weak O line.I really think if Quinn would have kept Koetter and just added a a couple of O linemen to really kickstart the running game, then he could have really focused on the Defense, and i honestly feel we would probably be undefeated and rolling right now.Instead, we have blown up our Offense, our O line, though good for running, is smaller and cant hold up for pass protection, we have pretty much exiled our #2 receiver (who happens to be our all time WR leader) and there really is no other threat other than JJ and Devonta. Our Qbs confidence is probably at a all time low. What is really worst is that 9 games into the season, i really think our leaders on O are starting to doubt this offense. Just my take. since68andcounting
I did not like Koetter. His run to pass ratio was waaaay off whack. The problem with our offense this year is multifold. Bad snaps, bad throws (some due to bad snaps), fumbles, holding calls due to a weak OL, dropped balls, missed communication between QB and WR, forced throws into triple coverage. Many of these mistakes are occurring in the red zone. There are a LOT of things wrong. But overall, there are things right. The attack is more balanced. We are running the ball effectively. Play action (at least early in the season) is WAY more effective. We're using mis-direction, screens and trap/draws to good effect.I thought Shanahan's play calling early in the season was brilliant. He needs to stick with what works and quit trying to outsmart himself.

Sure it would have been easier on Ryan and company not having to learn another offense and deal with an OC sleep at the wheel. I don't see the genius in Shanahan that Quinn raved about. If he can't make adjustments against defenses crowding the box then we're in trouble.

We did not have a high powered offense. We could not run the ball. We lost many-a-game, thanks to our offense. I am not dumping on Koetter (I liked his offense), but let's get real. We have a lousy, patch-work OL. And, there is just so much you can do when you are weak at the LOS.
