Starting Ol After Bye Week

LT Long

RG Levitre

C ??? biggest need but I do not know who they'll put here

LG???? maybe Person he can do the zone blocking --just not polished at center yet

RT Matthews

I swapped your tackles remember that Matthews has played RT but Long has always been a LT

I wouldn't move Matthews to the right side, he's playing well at LT and he can hold that position down for the next decade. I would rather try out Long at RT.

Matthews will NOT be moving to RT

Why do people suggest this?

!. because that's where he started with the Falcons back when Baker was LT

2 OF the players currently available, it's either leave Schraeder there or move Matthews that's really the only 2 choices ---( I'm ok with Matthews LT and Schraeder RT)

3. because putting Long anywhere other than LT makes no sense at all

4. and this exercise is about upgrading the Oline (with current personnel)

5. I really expect no changes. -- if it was still preseason then maybe

Matthews has firmly entrenched himself as the current and future LT of this team. Baker went down in the 2014 preseason, and Matthews has been at LT ever since. Which has been over a year now. It was clear when we picked him that the plan was to eventually transition him to that side, regardless of where he started out at. He's done well this year. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Not to mention, people are overestimating Long. There's a reason he went unsigned for so long, and there's a reason why Lamar Holmes is counting more against the cap this year.

If nothing else, Ryan doesn't have to worry about his blindside. Let's not turn a solution into a problem by moving a cornerstone of this team and affecting his continual development

It's kind of like shaving with a really sharp straight razor. On one hand, you get a really close shave. On the other hand, one slip up and it's all over. ohmy.png

Matthews Levitre Gino Chester Schraeder

Gino came from the same situation as Levitre.

Plus he knows the concept of the zone scheme.

Everything will get moving once they have time to sit and now plug in the bye week fix this is like September in baseball time to actually put the cogs in place and gets things rolling if you haven't already.
