likeriver
So I had a 3 hour class sunday from 5 to 8 so I missed the game. Anyone want to give me a quick run down of what you think were the highlights/critical moments? I know Quinn FG'd on a 4th & goal with like 2 minutes left, any others? Who played well and who sucked? I think one of the main keys to the game was the fact that the Niners obviously game planned to stuff Devonta. It worked and the Falcons didn't have an answer to that problem. The Niners had 2 kids playing CB and the Falcons couldn't take advantage of that fact. Niners Lbs were awesome...stuffed the run and provided constant pressure to Ryan on passing plays all day.

SyCo
Niners defense played lights out. Ryan nor freeman could get anything going. defense played well for the most part but Gabbert broke atleast two for sure sacks and had big gains on the ground. Theyhateme : )
Despite Weems giving the offense the ball near the 50 yard line on 3 separate instances, Matt Ryan and the offense couldn't get it done. They shut down the running game, although we attempted to run....ONLY 14 TIMES.Phillip Wheeler drilled their QB for a would-be sack, but it was called helmet-to-helmet...no one but the refs agreed.Hardy, Roddy, Tamme, Freeman and JJ looked good catching the ball.Ryan was off on a few throws. The defense did more than enough, but the offense couldn't sync-up with them.DQ made the worse call ever.....ball on the 1 yard line with less than 3 mins down by 4 and he kicks a FG.That's that game in a nutshell. sdogg
The offense has gone from a major strength of this team the past several years, to the the weakest link.

*Old Pappy Falcon*
Predictable, Desperate, lonely, crying, laughing while crying, destructive, mood swings, over eating, headaches, Nothing lasting for 4hrs...just my luckDon't turn on you're T.V. at home. Ask a doctor if you're healthy enough to engage in Atlanta Falcons football..............

Ask a doctor if you're healthy enough to engage in Atlanta Falcons football..............Haha... that's what's great about living in Seattle... I don't have to suffer thru Falcons games... unless they are playing Dallas or the Seahawks. The NFL.com play by play feed is enough for me...... and to think I ALMOST signed up for Sunday Ticket this year too. Phew... after the clown show that has been the last 5 weeks I'm glad I didn't.5-0 to 6-3 to... 7-9? I do think this team will beat Jacksonville. KRUNKuno
No continuity on offense until Matt runs no huddle.Devonta had all of 12 carries....the run was stuffed because we kept running outside stretch plays, something the niners clearly gameplanned for as they dropped a safety down for every formation that looked like we'd run out of. I had the ticket last year also, I almost got it to my man but thought a little different this year myself. God lawd, this team needs help this year! I'd have to agree with ya on Jacksonville at this point. Unless we see a different team after the bye...fans hearts are crushed for the most part. Not expecting a Super Bowl, but just play strong as a team for us. Not to much to ask as a fan for years. I'm always gunna watch them being near them, but this stuff can be hard on ya health man lol. Good thing we can vent and be together on here.
capologist
Basically: Offensive woes continued minus the turnovers at least.Defense missed Alford greatly because Phillip Adams is just not very good. Yes he had a pick but that was more because the receiver dropped the ball. Also, we got pressure on Gabbert but didn't finish very well... Domed Outter
Don't watch the replay of the game. It'll drive you insane.Short routes, bad throws, taking a sack on a free play, field goal when we needed a TD. Couldn't even capitalise at starting at the 50 multiple times (thanks Weems, your efforts were appreciated yesterday).Niners dropping passes left, right and centre, no finish to plays.Having been to Nashville from England, and was contemplating flying over to Charlotte, after seeing the last 4 games there is no way I'd waste my money on this team again this season.Until 2016... Kaptain Krazy
1) the leading rusher going into yesterday's action had 12 carries for 12 yards2) Blaine Gabbert's biggest weakness (can't deal with pressure) was never exploited because of the Falcons D's biggest weakness (can't get pressure)3) Weems drank from the fountain of youth and had 191 return yards4) QB throws for 300, no INTs, top WR has double digit catches for triple digit yards...and yet the Offense couldn't take advantage of #35) Even with all that, ATL was in position to win and Quinn made a horrible decision. 4th down from the 2, 3.5 mins left, down 4. Instead of going for it and either taking the lead or having SF start from their own 2 yd line, he elected to kick the FG. Huge strategic mistake.Falcons are in trouble. The next two opponents are much better than the last two. Still have to play Carolina twice. The desperately need the BYE week to clear the cobwebs. Should be no worse than 8-1 right now, and instead 9-7 is more likely than 11-5.
GritsPittz
Our offense moved the ball but got stopped once we got close to fg range. Weems gave us great field position all day. Our run game was completely shutdown. It looked like they knew when we were going to run it and aggressively stopped it when we tried. Bowman had a great game for them and was a real pain for our offense (pretty familiar sight.) Our defense gave up a couple big plays but overall played pretty sound. Vic Beasley had a nice interception when Mike Nolaning into coverage. Soliai came to play and made it tough for them to run anything up the middle.I'm glad the bye week is here.San Fran matched up very well against what we wanted to do. We didn't play bad outside of a couple dropped passes. They just beat us at their place. I wasn't as upset about this game as the other 2 we lost from beating ourselves. No turnovers from our offense was a welcome sight.

Freeman ONLY had 12 yards on 12 attempts. It's obvious the running game was going nowhere yesterday. The problem yesterday was not letting Matty call audibles to change up the plays or using the hurry up offense. Let Matty be Matty, Shanny.
