Have We Met Or Exceeded Your Expectations So Far?

I thought we would start slow and get a few wins towards the end of the season, I expected 8-8 or 9-7 at best. I think we've started off great! We are currently at 6-2 and our defense is drastically improved. We now have the best running game that we've had in 4 years. It is odd that our passing game and turnovers have shown up, they have never been the problem and I thought the success would have just rolled over from years past. Something is off there but I believe we will get it turned around shortly.

I honestly think the fast 5-0 start really set unrealistic expectations for the remainder of the season. New coaching, staff, players, scheme.. I never expected this type of turnaround. I was expecting this to be a throwaway season and instead it has been an exciting one with only 2 losses.

Be honest. We all had certain expectations heading into the season.

Is our record and status of the team bellow, at, or above the expectations you had before the season started?

Our defense has drastically improved because of schedule. We haven't played anyone that made the playoffs last year and take a look at the quarterbacks we faced this year. Please don't tell me our defense is better. This Falcon team is junk, the same junk I've been watching for the past few years. Nothing different.

The defense in the past 2 seasons would have made the qb's we faced look like Manning and Rodgers. At least this defense makes them look like what they are; which is average to below average qbs.

Before the season it was ok. Then the season began and we saw how bad teams like the Redskins, Titans, Saints and Buccs are and expectations went up. We even got the Cowboys without their 3 best players.

Then you watch how we struggled in all but 1 game and it becomes pretty disappointing

agreed but truth is.....

1) we can only win what we are given. It's not like we can just call up a 100% healthy team and have the best team every week.

-so this is a great way for Quinn to get his feet wet.

2) I feel the struggle is due to the other team being so crappy.

- we have no identity. Because we really don't know what we have. So we are having to plan for teams

- with playing crap teams. They have nothing for us to plan against

- so we have to see how they do in the first and second. And then go in strong.

^^^^^^ hope that point two really makes sense.

I don't really know how to answer this question. There was part of me that felt like we were gonna kick butt this year and make a trip to the playoffs, but that was just my optimistic homer side. I wasn't going to be shocked if we fielded a really mediocre team.

Our 5-0 start definitely exceeded my preseason expectations, especially the emergence of the run game and our run defense. I guess after the 5-0 start, my expectations for this team were ramped up, and it is THOSE expectations that have been let down over the last month.

This team needs to get on a winning streak and get some confidence in itself like they had the first quarter of the season.

I see they exceeded due to how they can change in the second quarter. If we have a big team to play against, I feel Quinn would have a game plan. But right now he does not, since the teams we are playing are crap.

One we get our identity. We will be putting mud holes in these weak teams. But it's actually going to take playing bigger teams to find it.

I don't buy that explanation. If that's the case we should be playing much better against our division rivals, who we know much better than these other teams and we're 5-1 against last year.

the only coach to know something is Armstrong. Pioli, TD, blank certainly have no idea.

Yes the players have knowledge. But they are not coaches. And it's all new scheme. So they are learning.

We are A LONG way from what this team could be. After week 4, I thought for sure this team was FINALLY going to show how great it is, but they flipped the switch and now we have to rebuild our identity but its too late because we have ******* pansies who have to cry to the media and make us look soft as pillows.

The team has exceeded my expectations as far as our record--especially the way we were scrambling to shore up the o-line at season's start. And I didn't expect Freeman to be as good as he is.

But I am disappointed at how fundamentally unsound we've looked lately.

Actually, this is a thread about whether or not we have met your preseason expectations....

Honestly, no. Things I didn't expect or even imagined from this team as of the preseason:

1. I never expected to lose to the Saints with 3 redzone T.O.s and a blocked FG for ANOTHER TD.

2. I never expected to lose to Rookie "Crablegs Winston" especially at home, where T.O.s would be the culprit.

3. I never expected snap-fumble issues from the primary and backup center position.

4. I never expected 2 QB to RB fumble exchanges.

5. I never expected Roddy White to shoot off his mouth, using expletives about not wanting to block. This was at the absolute worst possible time and he said to ESPN. ** We haven't been the same team since.**

6. I never expected JJ or Freeman to go on such a tear.

For me that's a two part answer. . We started out way better than I would have thought but our last three games have been worse than I thought we'd be at any point this season. Not that each of those game didn't have bright spots, its just I would have never thought we'd be be making these type of mistakes past preseason.
