falconanthony Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 The rules to protect the quarterback have become so strict that if you touch him around the head or below the knees it's a penalty. Winston only threw for 177 yards. This is the second week in a row we kept a qb under 200 yards. The problem was turnovers. That simple. That simple.True, but keep in mind we are talking about a rookie QB with 1 legitimate receiving threat who he overthrew/underthrew a lot and also drew like 2-3 pass interference calls and probably should have had another towards the end of the game on Adams. I'll agree that it worked for the most part today. We gave them the rock 4 extra times and were still in the game, but it didn't work when we needed it at the end. He literally completed 2 passes with a guy draped over him. He was constantly scrambling from pressure today. Metenberger was also harassed. Denver made Rodgers look like a high school qb today. Oakland made the jets defense look bad. This theory that young players can't beat you is just ********. Matt Ryan was 11-5 his first year. Cam was good his first year. That's excuses trying to say "we got lucky". We WON those games. The 2 games we lost were multiple turnover games. That's it. Eliminate turnovers we win. Nothing else that happened even mattered. Tampa nor NO could stop us. We stop ourselves. I'm not worried about this 6-2 team in the least bit. Did the piss me off? Absolutely, but I also see what the problem was today and against NO. We def have talent. You're just mad. Sleep it off.20 points of turnovers. THATS why we lost. I guess GB is no longer talented?? We knew that it wasn't going to be an immediate fix here. The fact that we're in a good position to make the playoffs in year one is awesome. We're not as good as the top tier teams, yet. Yes it may not be THE problem, but its certainly been a problem when you consider everything.The past few games our offense has definitely screwed us over and the defense has played pretty well. Even though they didn't show up on that last drive in OT yesterday. But you have to take into consideration the lower tier QB's we are playing and the fact that we have the least amount of sacks in the entire NFL. So i don't think the defense is bad by any means, but it can absolutely be improved and needs to be improved. I would have much rather had Winston throw for 300 yards during the game and then our defense come up big in OT. But yes, the offense has been our main issue the past few weeks.
