Keys
Is Shanahan saving Roddy for the end of the season? As we know, Roddy is up there in age now. He may take longer to come back if he gets banged up. A healthy Roddy White is very useful for Shanahan when facing Carolina in the last weeks, and the playoffs later. Plus, the night he is unleashed, it'll be a surprise for the other team. They're not expecting Roddy at this point compared to other players. I just can't fathom a different reason for not including Roddy into the game plan more. Hankerson was out, I was surely expecting more. Guest facelessman07
I can't really buy into that theoryRoddy just needs to snap some nudie pics of Shanny. You know, similar to what Kroy was supposedly doing the last few years with Smitty
octoslash
Father Time is hampering Roddy right now. And his quarterback is throwing the ball into the dirt for some reason. It's that simple.
Malachore
He looked to be wide open on more than a few occasions so I'm not sure what's up. If he's getting open then make someone other than Julio and Tamme the 1st read.
Falconblade22
I just made a post about roddy .... doesn't make any sense i see nothing wrong with him at all ....
sdogg
People keep saying Roddy can't get open, are wrong. If course he's not as good as in years past, but they're have been numerous times that he's been open and Ryan refuses to go to him. Ryan will force it to JJ or Tamme, but will not throw it to Roddy in single coverage and at times when he's open.
Stolenn87
Father Time isn't the reason, don't buy into that hype....That is so freaking overrated. It's the QB and OC.... They both suck at this juncture.

But please, by all means, keep putting forth your nonsense.
Faithful Falcon
If they had any sense, then they would use Roddy as Pittsburgh used Hines Ward late in his Career. I think that they are trying to run him off. Goose said that Roddy was open on almost every play.

But please, by all means, keep putting forth your nonsense. His fumble on his stupid play that should have been a run wasn't in those stats. His fumble, when Freeman had to recover, that would have sealed the win for the Bucs in OT, didn't show up in these stats. His misses on wide open receivers doesn't show up on these stats. His dumb interception on the free play in the red zone where Julio made a play that showed dignity, does not show up on the stats.
Lornoth
The scheme doesn't use the #2 outside receiver very much. Just like some schemes don't pass to the RB, or only use the TE's as blockers, or only pass to those two and don't use any WR's as much. In our scheme Roddy's position just isn't high on the read list very often.

octoslash
No I'm just saying Roddy isn't consistently getting open, that's all. And Ryan looks all messed up when he tries to hit him. Weird.

jlrfalcon
Julio has not exactly been at 100% all year and I have not heard much about Roddy having major injuries.Opposing teams are double-covering Julio and it takes away our entire passing offense except when Tamme suddenly pops up or Freeman is in the backfield (Ward is usually in there on 3rd downs). The whole determinant to this offense's success is whether Julio can get open. Joey563
Only thing that makes sense was said by Payton Manning in the game interview with the announcers. Payton said being over unfamiliar with a system can cause you to look inconsistent and slow. I hope that's the case with our offense. The Closer
K Shan probably telling Matt not to pass to Roddy.I hate it, K Shan treating Matt like he's Brian Hoyer or Matt Cassell.
Exp
Shanny would rather do things his way rather than adjust to fit our offenses strengths. He is just not as good of an OC as many of us believed. ; he is stubborn. Remember PYP? If they took away julio, than fine, we threw to roddy, to gonzo, to douglas, ect. They cant stop everyone at once. Now we force it to julio or checkdown to tamme or a rb. We are no where near as leathal in the passing game as we were with koetter. Can we have shannys run game and koetters aerial assault? If only lol.
sanfranfalcon
Ryan does NOT really have a good feel for this offense yet. it's that simple. he doesn't have the confidence nor timing to look for his secondary receivers. but Roddy ain't open that much either. he can't beat man like he used to...ALL22... bdog 29
Roddy has not fallen off nearly has hard as his stats would have you believe. Don't forget he almost had 100 yards in our game against the Eagles. The problem is definitely either with the scheme or Matt.I've seen Roddy running wide open on multiple occasions this year and Tony Sirigusa even mentioned it during the game yesterday. For some reason Matt prefers to lock into Julio and go to him even if he's covered. That big 3rd down catch last week against the Titans is a perfect example. Roddy was wide open on a short crossing route underneath but Matt aired it out to Julio even though he was covered. Julio made the catch so it wasn't that big of a deal but it still wasn't the best decision. If we really want to succeed, we need to incorporate Roddy more into our offense. He's lost a step but he should not be an afterthought in our offense. He still runs crisp routes, gets open, and makes catches. No amount of media spin will make me think Leonard Hankerson is a better option right now than Roddy. Roddy can at least catch the ball. Shanahan needs to make a concentrated effort to incorporate Roddy more into the offense.
