Joremarid
yep, not on this scheme..... So not sure what that guy was trying to prove to meSo if he had 3 more yards today then that would have proven a point? What is so magical about 400 yards that isn't at 397? Joremarid
Matt Ryan can ball but this offense is for the less intelligent throwers. Ryans stengths are reading the defense and audibleing. Or no huddle. Shanahan and Ryan are a bad mix. Not a lack of talent but a lack of compatibilityNow we are getting to something to discuss. He doesn't fit end of story doesn't promote discussion. mashburn*Fibonacci
It's the stupid scheme and having Roddy as the third look. He simply doesn't have time in his progression to get to the third choice. And with half a second taken off the 2-3 he has for bad snaps, it is an uphill battle. What really ticked me off. Is of Ryan could audible. He would look so much better. Because he would see, "omg no one is over Roddy. Or one on one with Roddy". But now it's, " omg I have to throw to Julio and there is triple coverage, I better thread the needle here ".
Windy City Falcon
At the end of the day unfortunately Ryan is 30 and he is what he is. He's had 3p touchdowns once and this season is on pace of have one of his lowest touchdown and highest turnover seasons. He had Roddy, Julio and Gonzalez and only got 30 touchdowns once. He likely never will have 30 again unfortunately

What is so magical about 400 yards that isn't at 397? still three games in the past. And no I don't care anyhow. Because Matt is dang good. This is just not his scheme. He is better when he can audible. And that is where he can pick apart a defense.
bertrain7
Now we are getting to something to discuss. He doesn't fit end of story doesn't promote discussion.Mash knows what he is talking about but either drank too much or too irritated to converse. I dont care who you are you have to admit ryan is smart. Hes arm strength isnt the best but he can read defenses. This scheme is hardly about reading a defense as much as it is throwing to who shanahan says.

But looking at all the games this year, he is better in the old scheme. I promise you If we were 2-6 people would be agreeing with me. And it's because people are looking at stats and scores. Instead of just looking at the game.

But this scheme is going to make him look bad. If he ends the season at less then 20 TD. And Shannahan is saying he will continue to not let Matt audible. Then I say one or the other has to go. etherdome
I disagree with the OP. Matt Ryan will run this system well. He has the accuracy, intelligence and grit to take advantage of the entire width of the field. Matt just needs time. with respect to the OL, I have read that Alex Mack may be available for trade. If that is true, I can't think of a better idea for this team. Add Mack now and Irving in the offseason.

I can name a handful of other single stats where he is a top 10.Just like you'll choose 1 stat like comebacks to focus on. We have comebacks because Ryan turns it over so much this season we have to. He has a lot of yards from the same reason. Heven has a lot of turnovers. He has a lot of underthrows. He's been bad this year.I love Ryan and wear his jersey on Sunday but to ignore how bad he's been this year is just living in fantasy land Edited November 2, 2015 by Windy City Falcon

On TV, Archer advise it was a blown play by Freeman running into Ryan that caused the fumble.
