TrueFalcon316
I think it's funny how people are blaming Shanahan when Matt Ryan has been under throwing and overthrowing receivers on deep throwing. I don't know how many times he has under thrown a open receiver and had balls knock down by defensive linemen because his throws are to low. Oh how can we forget the dumb ints he's been throwing smh, he has been inconsistent all year but still people are trying to blame Shanahan which i think is a great offensive coordinator the blame needs to start going to Matt Ryan. I'm tired of people defending this dude it's been going on for years I give he a break on the last two years that offensive line was one of the worst ever but I'm going back on the winning seasons he was doing the same thing as he is now. Guest Gritz
Are you new to TATF?There have been a TON of threads earlier this week about Ryan and his recent lackluster play..At this point it's not even in the category of beating a dead horse. It's pulverizing that horse's bones until they are a fine powder.
Atlfanstckndenver
Wait have I been living in an alternate universe where Ryan has been getting all the blame?

caver50
The only thing i can figure is, is because he is in a new system, but your right, Matt isn't throwing well. One thing you always need to realize is how much pressure he is under His line run blocks well, but not much pass blocking. I'm not sure what we can do about it this late in the season. Just give him more timeand hope he improves.

kingslasher
The route tree should be the same with different OC's, but maybe our receivers aren't exactly where Matt expects them to be. A lot of balls are thrown before the last break and before the receiver looks back. If they aren't exactly on the same page, balls will be errant. I'm not saying that is the cause of all Matt's wounded ducks this year, but I'm sure a few can be shrugged off that way.

BigDawgMania
Yeah sure its all Ryans fault. People on here been bashing him for years. So what makes this year any different? Every time he is going through a slump you guys bash him every chance you get by calling him noodle arm or matty melt. Its a team game you know? Its also a wr has to catch it too. Ive seen Julio drop some easy catches. Ive seen hank drop some catches. But blame the Qb. Hes the most successful qb this organization has ever had. This team would still be in the crapper if we didnt draft him.
32wood84white
The thing that sucks about most NFL fans is they complain so much. Sports fans have got to be some of the most negative people in the world and they always think their way is better.Enjoy the season. **** the regular season is about to be half way over. We are 6-1 with tons of things to improve upon. As fans, what will blaming Matt Ryan do? Get him fired? Make him play better? What will it do?This is the truth about the Falcons. They are good but have a long way to go, we all hope they make enough strides to become a strong contender for a Super Bowl this year, we have strengths and weaknesses and most of the weaknesses can be fixed with better play. Not play weve never seen before but guys performing to the level we have seen them play at before. That's the truth. Either we will make the strides and win a championship or we will fall short and Dan and the gang will go back to work restocking his team with players they like and maybe even Bruce Irvin. The man did state he would play for Atlanta, now it's up to Dan to see if A. Thats true and B. Do we really want him.Everyone has been frustrated with the way things have gone these parts few weeks, but nothing ever stays the same. Either we will get worse or better. As fans lets just hope for the best and talk about football. Falcons football. For exampleDoes anyone want to see Allen and Therezie playing tohetjer this week? How will they fare? Whose the in the box guy out of the two or will they alternate playing that role? There's actually tons of fun football related things to talk about other than who we can blame for being 6-1. JDaveG
Ryan has played poorly the last few weeks. I haven't really seen anyone deny that. What I take away from it is that if we're 6-1 over a stretch where 3 of the 7 games were sub-par performances by our QB, what are we going to look like when the switch flips and he starts playing like we're used to seeing him play?Unless you just think Ryan can't play and has never demonstrated he can, I see nothing but upside. If we can win when he's off, we ought to be a dangerous team when he puts it together (and he will).

Ryan has acknowledged it himself in various interviews and sound bites. It is a good thing that the Falcons are winning with poor Ryan performances...and like you alluded to guys are what their respective histories and performances say they are. There isn't a single reason I can think of that would indicate that the Ryan we've seen the past few weeks is now who he has become. Nono
Don't worry we will go 13-3 and crap ourselves in the playoffs probably because of something did or didn't do
Door Gunner
Said it before and I will say it again. Even when Matty Ice is a bit off kilter, he is still one of the best in the game. When this offense starts clicking...Look out!

JDaveG
I feel the 13-3 also but hope the new coaching staff will keep the momentum going.Unless this offense just goes other-worldly over the last half of the season, I'm not expecting it. We have too many holes on the team. We ought to be better by then, but the truth is we are about halfway through a complete rebuild. We'll have a better idea what kind of team we have next season, I think. I see us making the playoffs and maybe winning 1 divisional game, maybe being 1 and done again. I don't see us really making a deep run this season, though I certainly will be thrilled if they prove me wrong. I think next season we ought to be in the mix again, and hopefully we'll continue to build on that. Matt Ryan's window is still wide open, but Father Time is keeping his eye on it.
