Our Passing Defense Is Far Better Than The Numbers Suggest

Pretty much any passing defense statistic we are top 10 in except yards and thats due to the fact teams average 40+ passes per game against us since we shut down the run (#2 run defense).

Keep in mind 230 passing yards and 2 TDs came in garbage time against the Texans. Take away those yards and our pass yards allowed sky rockets into the top half of the league.

If our offense can get out of the funk they are in this will be a very dangerous team.

Indeed. The QBs have not been too hot outside of Eli and Brees.

But yeah we need to be more consistent and need a lot more pressure. **** dial up some blitzes if we have too, when we did it against the Titans it worked great.

Everyone is aware we cannot rush the passer.

Rocky gets "picked on" because Trufant is one of the best CBs in the NFL; They have to throw somewhere.

We were 20th in the passing D DVOA headed into last week. I'm sure that standing will improve a bit when they run this week's numbers.

Our passing defense is slightly below average. Which is about what we should have expected with our youth and meh LBs.

People need to shake themselves of this idea that you're hot garbage (or "butt crumbs) if you aren't Top 5 in every category. That's not realistic....especially when our Defense was 32nd in the league last year.

Against Titans,we had a sack, Babs was held to prevent a sack, and so was Hageman.

Your boy Lewan tackled AC to prevent a sack and it should have been a penalty.

Only one TE had a good game and Durant and Allen was out so communication was bad. Rocky hasn't given up sh*t. I don't care how much you don't like him. You can't even pull up anything about him to back that up except the Giants game. And he didn't have a bad game THEN. He was also playing slot against the Titans. They ran a lot of rub routes to create separation. He also missed those throws because pressure was in his face. The defense has kept us in games this year. Something Smiths defenses couldn't do. So pull up the list of TE's that lit us up that dont play for New Orleans? Also if Tru is shitting down one side of the field you gotta throw it somewhere. You really haven't been paying attention. Mettenbetger only had 187 yards passing and he lit us up? Picked on Rocky?? If it weren't for the gifted int on the 20 they wouldn't have even scored Sunday.

Their leading receiver was their TE and his numbers were

Only 2 wr's even caught passes Sunday. Mettenberger tried his best but none of what you're saying is true. Qb's miss all the time. Either good coverage or pressure. We didn't even play dime Sunday . The nickel corner Adams was benched for Collins and they played better. The linebackers did play bad without Durant but with his communication back on Sunday worrikow got a pick. Still have the #2 rush defense.

The secondary is the reason rb's were killing us out of the backfield. Only 1 TE balled on us. But durant was also out. We're better when he's in against TE's for sure.

I like the defense. I love when we defer to the 2nd half, just to see them get it started. That's why the offense has to stay on the field for more that what they've been doing.

Jalen Collins comes in in nickle packages now and kicks Alford inside. That's a major upgrade over Philip Adams at the nickleback spot.

I'm not going to be that guy who argues over players cause people are going to think what they want, but I see alford chasing people. you think he's good, I think he isn't, we can leave it at that
