Hypothetical Question

Recommended Posts

You are the new GM of the Atlanta Falcons. Blank gives you five years to turn this organization from pretenders (How the media views the Falcons team) to contenders. How will you go about bringing this franchise its first Lombardi? What moves would you make? Who are you hiring/ firing? Etc.

Now that most of the pieces are in place, I'd run the ball like H3LL and send 5 (consistently) or 6 (on occasion) until they show that the can beat it or get it blocked.

So as GM, you would take over all playcalling duties from the OC. Somehow I don't think we'd find a half-decent OC willing to take that job...

Hey..."most of the pieces in place" included Shanny and DQ....when I said, " I would..." I didn't mean....NM...you must know that I want DQ to rush 5 or 6 and I want Shanny to run the ball...jeez.

Lock Thomas in a room give Quine full control.

What would be the point in locking Thomas Dimitroff in a room? He has no power anymore if you're the new GM, as was the premise of the thread. Comprehension.

Well calling us "pretenders" might have something to do with it....I ignored it and decided to answer, but in no way do I feel that we are "pretenders."

That's what the media refers to us as... Pretenders. That's why I put the explanation in parenthesis so it wouldn't get confused with it being my own opinion of the team.

As GM, I would be planning for next year's draft and Free Agency. We have our work cut out for us. We have 18 guys that are going to be UFA's after this season. And they are not just depth guys. Clayborn, Chester, Schofield, Schraeder, Worrilow, Hankerson, Allen, Bradford, and Stupar all need to be extended. Adams should be considered for an extension as well, because we have drafted too many CB's for us to allocate more picks to that portion of our depth chart.

Depending on what the coaches think about Jake Long, I'd consider getting him another year if there are actual plans to ease him back in after his injury.

I would draft BPA at areas of need. The most critical areas are C, TE, DE, LB, and FS (not in priority order). We can use an upgrade at many other positions, but these positions will be lacking next season. I like what I've seen from Tamme, but he only has 1 more year left and he's getting up in age, so it would be great to get an impact rookie at TE.
