My Only Gripe About Beasley

He doesn't seem to play with and edge or much aggression.

I saw Lewan jump on top of him and push him to the ground a few times after the whistle and Beasley just sat there and let it happen. He's pretty passive. I understand after the whistle stuff means nothing, but it definitely translates to the field in this case. Too often does he seem 'OK' with not making the play.

Overall, I am very pleased with his performance (especially for a rookie), but I sure hope he develops that killer instinct as he becomes more comfortable in the pros.

Wasn't that the knock on him coming outta college?

For me, I'll have to chalk it up to lack of experience. He needs to hit the weight room this off season, though, and get bigger & stronger --- that should help him next year, plus having his rookie season behind him, too. I feel sure that DQ sees all this on film, and between him and our DC, they should get him on track real soon. Like someone else said, I would like to see him play with a little more violence, when attacking the QB ---

GO, DIRTY BIRDS!!!!!!!

He doesn't have that dog in him. He has the physical tools and is super quick but he doesn't have that mentality where I'm going to dominate you and humiliate you every single play. He needs to play more violent, get more angry, use his hands more, gain power so he can bull rush sometimes instead of being overpowered, and not give up on plays too easily. If he continues to fail at DE next season I would move him to outside linebacker.

I just want to see him develop his pass rush moves. Its getting old real quick seeing him rush outside and then try and spin inside only to see him pushed inside towards all the other d-lineman and o-lineman and get stonewalled.

Lineman have it on tape and you can tell its not surprising them at all.

Ypu have to have the horses in the race to win. Cox has to work with what he has on the team.

Good point, that's why I think he'll stay .. our 4 man pass rush is still a huge area of concern, though.

We now have more talent on the line than last year with Beasley and Schofield et al., and a scheme that should provide more penetration.

However, we're still last in the league in sacks. It's strange to me.

Beasley is a linebacker size DE going against Lewan who is

very bad man. If he can't beat him with speed or moves being

violent is just going to get him killed.

Other similar players have figured out a way to be effective so

let's hope Beasley can too.
