Falcanuck
He doesn't seem to play with and edge or much aggression.I saw Lewan jump on top of him and push him to the ground a few times after the whistle and Beasley just sat there and let it happen. He's pretty passive. I understand after the whistle stuff means nothing, but it definitely translates to the field in this case. Too often does he seem 'OK' with not making the play.Overall, I am very pleased with his performance (especially for a rookie), but I sure hope he develops that killer instinct as he becomes more comfortable in the pros. Atlantafan21
That's something that worries me as well. With Quinn at HC you'd think he'd play with more intensity.

raysnill1
mine is he's only played in 7 NFL games and plays in a scheme that doesn't blitz much, plus being a rookie, OTs are allowed to hold him like nobody's business

quotemokc
One other minor thing that he needs to work on.A few times I have seen him go after the QB from behind and instead of full on going for the tackle he attempts to strip the ball and loses his momentum and the qb gets away
Falcanuck
Wasn't that the knock on him coming outta college?I guess a bit. His biggest knock was that he takes plays off. But right now, even plays he's giving his all, he isn't very violent even though he is effective.
FalconJim
For me, I'll have to chalk it up to lack of experience. He needs to hit the weight room this off season, though, and get bigger & stronger --- that should help him next year, plus having his rookie season behind him, too. I feel sure that DQ sees all this on film, and between him and our DC, they should get him on track real soon. Like someone else said, I would like to see him play with a little more violence, when attacking the QB --- GO, DIRTY BIRDS!!!!!!!
Guest facelessman07
Many here were enraged after Ray Lewis said he didn't see that "dog" in his game that he needsLooks like Ray was rightSomeone get VB44 some roids
MilleniumFalcon
He doesn't have that dog in him. He has the physical tools and is super quick but he doesn't have that mentality where I'm going to dominate you and humiliate you every single play. He needs to play more violent, get more angry, use his hands more, gain power so he can bull rush sometimes instead of being overpowered, and not give up on plays too easily. If he continues to fail at DE next season I would move him to outside linebacker.
Clark Kent™
I saw him get into a pushing match with Lewan at some point during the game. I don't think he is that passive, but he dang sure isn't as aggressive as guys like Lewan are.
Mattbob_Icepants
+1 for a negative point that does not end with "Waah Bust waaah". Refreshing and I agree.

PriMeTiiMe
I just want to see him develop his pass rush moves. Its getting old real quick seeing him rush outside and then try and spin inside only to see him pushed inside towards all the other d-lineman and o-lineman and get stonewalled.Lineman have it on tape and you can tell its not surprising them at all. Mattbob_Icepants
On another note: this is the second straight year of subpar d-line pass rush. Do you guys think Cox might be on the hot seat?
Mattbob_Icepants
Ypu have to have the horses in the race to win. Cox has to work with what he has on the team.Good point, that's why I think he'll stay .. our 4 man pass rush is still a huge area of concern, though. We now have more talent on the line than last year with Beasley and Schofield et al., and a scheme that should provide more penetration. However, we're still last in the league in sacks. It's strange to me. Edited October 26, 2015 by Mattbob_Icepants

Mattbob_Icepants
Cox has the number one run defending d-line in the leagueYup, but that doesn't help us against the pass. Would you say our 4 man rush is good enough but the backfield can't cover?
Mattbob_Icepants
Was the rush really good 3 years ago? This has been a problem for a long timeWhich probably led back to our old philosophy of focussing only on the interior and hoping that would create better opportunities for our (subpar) DEs. With the talent influx of the offseason you would at least expect some sort of improvement IMO
HOYLE
Beasley is a linebacker size DE going against Lewan who isvery bad man. If he can't beat him with speed or moves beingviolent is just going to get him killed.Other similar players have figured out a way to be effective solet's hope Beasley can too. zekeyboy1
How bout getting his azz off the field in time. That woulda been a killer penalty if they only needed 5 yds for a 1st down. smh
The Falcon Jedi Knight
I think he just kind of sucks, to be honest. He only has 1 move - speed rush - and thats not going to cut it in the NFL. He's also undersized, that doesnt help. And that lazy lolly-gagging back to the sideline after he engaged in trash talk ... unacceptable. zekeyboy1
Fact: If you want violent, Vic IS NOT your guy.......One of the nicest mild mannered DE's Ive ever met. lol. Just being real...
