Vic Beasly Saved The Game . . . Really

The Titans had 2nd and five at the Falcons 42 when Therezie (Isn't that Kyle Korver's nickname?) had the game clinching interception. Before that, a field goal seemed likely and a touchdown was very possible.

The intended receiver was wide open for a first down in field goal range.

But the ball sailed and/or had nothing on it so the interception was possible.

But the reason the ball was not well thrown is that Beasly, or the lineman blocking him hit Mettenberger during the release, so the QB could not STEP IN to the thrown.

That interception does not happen without the hit. And the hit does not happen if Beasly (who was running a blitz stunt up the middle) does not keep his feet moving and driving his man back into the pocket..

Sure, he is not producing the way we would hope, but give the man some credit where it is due.

BTW, the hit came 2.5 seconds after the snap. Not bad.

I am surprised no one mentions Worrilows int..

never mind.. Im not. People here hate him.

Not to mention the pass breakup on the play right before the INT. That would have been a TD easy if he didn't make a play on the ball.

"He sucks in coverage!"

pass break up saves the TD.

"He's not a playmaker!"

INT.

"But... it was a bad throw..."

Oh well. He'll just keep working whether they like him or not.

Actually, I was somewhat shocked that the coaches did not bench him after his 12th man penalty and that he actually played the rest of the game.

Has this staff shown any strong "punishment" against any players this year for a bad mistake or unsportsmanlike action?

Any chance he was slow getting off the field because he got banged up on the play? Someone else mentioned that . . .

Actually we got better field position because of his 12 men on the field penalty. After that penalty the Titans decided to go for it on 4th instead of punting and the defense was able to hold and allow us to take over on downs.
