Freeman's "not A Td"

I wish I could see the jaguar play, can you post a gif?

Freeman's "not a td" was more of "not a catch" and if you don't catch it, it's not a TD

I can't post a gif. I'm watching it through Xbox One. But, he literally crossed the goal line, fell down, and the ball came out, and then another Jag jumped on the ball for a TD. He barely took a second step.

The Golden Tate "TD" was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Freeman controlled the ball longer, made a football move and covered more ground than Golden. I have no idea what the refs are doing.

I agree, that Golden Tate play was ridiculous and I couldn't believe it when they ruled it a touchdown. I'm surprised it wasn't talked about more.

NFL has no flipping clue what the heIl a catch is anymore. Calvin Johnson against the Bears years ago. Dez Bryant against the Packers last year. Devonta Freeman this year. Golden Tate last week. That play today. What in the heIl is a catch and what isn't? It's a coin flip.

Neither do I...NFL causes more problems than solving them.

Exactly. HeIl I still remember the Bert Emanuel play when he was playing for the Bucs against the Rams in the playoffs in 1999. Was that a catch? Who in the heIl knows?

The Bert Emanuel play is what led to this FUBAR'd "what is a catch" situation. I think the play was actually ruled incomplete because the ball touched the ground, and led to the rule allowing a ball to touch the ground on a catch as long as the receiver had firm control of the ball and did not use the ground to aid the catch (trap).

That play started the whole "control the ball to the ground" garbage.

Yep. Just silliness.

Or maybe you can realize these refs are not machines? They're going to be influenced by the players and coaches during the game. They're going to be influenced by the tempo and what they've seen in past games and in training. They're going to make mistakes. It is what it is. Move on.

Must be the refs mom if you think there is no inconsistency and haven't been doing a poor job.
