JiveAF
Look guys, we are 5-1. I know that no one wanted to lose against New Orleans but it's happened so all we can do is be positive. Quinn is a rookie coach, we have all different kinds of coordinators who weren't here last year. We have multiple new starters. New plan. Etc. it wasn't really realistic to think we are winning the SB in Quinn's first season. I truly thought from the beginning that Quinn in his second or third season would get us over the hump. But we are looking at possible playoffs right now and that isn't a bad thing because anything can happen. There are so many good free agents that we could possibly get. I think our biggest problems are line backers, pass rush, maybe TE? Reliable WR2. Brandon Marshall (LB), KJ Wright, Bruce Irvin, Nigel Bradham. Are all outside linebackers who can actually COVER the pass. I'm saying some of the best ones that's been FA in recent years. ILB you got Danny Trevathan, Zach Brown, Rolando McClain. Etc. Those are just linebackers that can cover. Pass rushing wise you have Aldon Smith, Von Miller, and more. Of course franchise tag will come into play for some of these guys but you can hope. Then there are some DEs that can help because we do need a pass rush WITHOUT having to rotate an entire new line like we've had to do. I think JPP is a nice run defender who can rush the passer as well, Muhammed Wilkerson, etc. Tight end wise, there are quite a few. Antonio Gates, Gresham, Fleener, D Allen etc. I honestly think Quinn will improve the team CONSISTENTLY. I don't think the 5-0 start was a fluke. I just think that New Orleans played their hearts out because they are desperate. I don't think Atlanta executed the way they're capable of. I mean guys, if Coleman doesn't fumble, that's 3 or 7 points right there; the blocked punt was another 7 that could've been gone because our defense actually stopped No quite a bit. I honestly believe we make the playoffs this season and surprise some people when we beat a New York Giants, or Arizona team. But to think super bowl idk. But I DO BELIEVE we will get there with Quinn. Just not sure it will be this year. We lost to teams last year and years before who were worse than who we have beaten this season. So the schedule talk is a lot of dumb stuff. We have nice pieces. Ryan is borderline elite. Freeman is becoming a beast. Our run blocking is almost amazing. Julio is Julio. Trufant doesn't get tested and we have really good run d. I think Quinn creates something special here in the upcoming seasons. If he gets us some linebackers who can cover that underneath stuff, we are deadly. Also, Julio was hurt. I think this extra healing time does wonders. A healthy Julio with the luxury f a play action, forget about it. We will be fine guys!!
Begotten912
If we could get Von Miller to Atlanta not only would it instantly improve the PR on his own, it would give Beasley one of the best in the league to learn from who is in the same physical mold as he is. Lettuce pray Denver blows it up after Peyton retires.

A Dog Named Brian
You would think we were 0-6 with the way some of our fellow "fans" reacted to the game last night. This instant gratification mentality towards everything is getting really old. We're doing better than alot of people expected I think. Good post, division games are always a toss up, some of the more rational fans of this team know that. I like the direction we're going in. GoFalcons22
If we are 5-1 and looking forward to free agency we really do have the worst fan base in the NFL.
Godzilla1985
With the way this front 7 is I doubt we make it into the playoffs.

rounz
You people are gettting on my nerves with the "It's just a loss" attitude.I don't know if you're slow or what, but it wasn't just a loss.It was an embarrassing loss to our hated rivals on national TV.It was a loss the way only the Falcons seem to lose: like a team that can't find it's butt with both hands. So you can cool it with the "I'm so much more mature than you" attitude, because I'm gonna vent because I CARE! PHALCONABERNATHY
Be honest, If someone told you before the season started, "Hey, if the Falcons go 5-1 in the first half of the season but lose their only game to the Saints at the Superdome, would you take it?" Who's gonna say no? I wouldn't. We have PLENTY of time to turn it around.

emc008
It was only a loss. How are so many grown men in this forum such drama queens good god.Losing 1 game is nothing to cry over, but the way we lost is what we are arguing, not the actual "1" in a loss column. I read these boards every day more than I care to mention, but I do not post at all. But EVERY week (especially this week) I see all the overly confident fans nearly guaranteeing a win vs. the Saints. Those you should be calling the real drama queens as they do not see the danger in each NFL game regardless of the teams playing. (especially a major rivalry.) This loss provided an insight of concern, not of "we are going to suck forever, blah blah blah." It is okay for fans to be concerned and realistic about the concern, and then it is also okay for those said concerned fans to be excited when the team corrects itself as well.
