Oldskooler
The real question is.. What did we do to earn your garbage? Is there nothing better in your life that you spend so much time spreading gloom on this board? I haven't seen someone post so many times a day with such a negatively charged agenda since swift. What is it that you're trying to prove constantly badmouthing a team to its fans?"constantly badmouthing"?Before last night's debacle, what negative post had I made this season?Even before the season, when I was predicting 4-6 wins, I was clear that it was not a negative. I pointed out the new schemes and the new personnel needing time to gel. I said that losing would be perfectly acceptable as long as the team was progressing and growing.Well, we aren't progressing, we are regressing. We aren't growing.Even the coaches didn't believe in the team! Our own coaches obviously did not believe our #1 rushing attack was capable of imposing their will on the #32 rushing defense. So again, tell me what negativity I posted prior to last night's humiliation.Liar. dirtybird2k5
My turn:Defeating a 15-1 team in their house to win the NFC championshipGiving the Favre- led packers their first home playoff loss. 27-7 no lessBeating the Saints in N.O. in our only playoff matchupPutting up almost 50 against the Rams in the '04 playoffsWant to be manic depressive, go ahead. I'm going to accept the fact that 31 other teams are trying as hard as the Falcons to win, so you take the good with the badYou forgot ending Brees consecutive games with a touchdown streak, which I believe was a Monday night game. shc
I will say that I heard an interview with Quinn after the game, and he mentioned the fumbles. He also mentioned that they forced the fumbles, and he tipped his cap to them.VOODOO is real.
KRUNKuno
It really was not that disheartening of a loss. Normally Im mad about a loss, but it's usually because we got our butts handed to us and show no fight. We lost on our own accord. Not because the Saints exposed us. At 5-0 it had become apparent that our defense can do enough to keep us in games and that our offense when clicking is unstoppable. Last night our offense was not being stopped by the Saints; it was us stopping our own selves. Had we got dragged like we normally would in the past I'd be all aboard with the rest of you. But that loss was nothing but a series of unfortunate events. You guys are reaching....anybody that watched that game cannot say we got our tails handed to us. That would constitute exposure. But then it became apparent that we wouldn't be able to stop Benjamin Watson and bleh..
MilleniumFalcon
It's just one game. It's just one loss. Falcons have played poorly against the Redskins, the first half against the Cowboys, the 2nd and 3rd quarters against the Giants, and the 2nd half against the Eagles. There are too many lulls with this team where they play poorly. Don't see enough consistency to be a championship caliber team, still a season and Quinn's players in place away. But then it became apparent that we wouldn't be able to stop Benjamin Watson and bleh..The fact that Brees had 1 td for 6 inches goes to show that even with the numbers he had, he was being generally held in check. He wasnt having a field day against us. Offenaively we couldn't capitalize and left a possible 21 pts on the field. We had that game even with all the mishaps, and I think the team knows that. There is no fire sale that needs to happen. We just have to clean up what it is we do.

Def. agree with you that we mostly beat ourselves, but i also think we were def. exposed on a few fronts, esp on D.
TsuTsu
The refs tho, the refs....Even with the refs, there's no way we would have won purely based off how we turned the ball over.
ryanadonis
One loss after an overtime game and quick turn around to New Orleans , sorry not a lot of teams in the NFL would have been successful in that scenario. Only teams that could pull it off are Patriots

Only teams that could pull it off are Patriotsit was the number 32 running d and a 1-4 team. new orleans played last week too and someone pointed out their D played about 20 more snaps than ours, including the overtime.so i disagree, a lot of teams other than the patriots could pull it off. one 2 hour flight doesn't put a team at that much of a disadvantage
atl jones bro3
It actually was just one game. Hence the reason there's 1 loss in the column l. But does it really matter who we played? I knew all along as soon as we got our first loss these types of cowardly posts would start showing up. No matter what. People were just waiting to anoint Quinn as Mike smith 2.0 because they have no grip on reality and not mature enough to handle it. This is the NFL, every team loses. There has never been a fully perfect season. Deal with it and get over it. It was a bad game overall that a lot of the fault was on our own mental errors and can be adjusted. Time to sto being a dumb little kid in fairy land thinking losses will never happen

Are the Eagles not legit? If all you care about are titles, you either a) are in for a lifetime filled with far greater disappointment than bright spots, or need to go cheer for Buford High School#. fuego
As Falcons24Hawks observed, no: this is NOT just one game. This is EVERY spotlight game we have ever been in.This is 1980 vs. Dallas. This is the 1998 Super Bowl. This game is an amalgam of every humiliation, every heartbreak, every flash of unrealized potential.Dude, the 5th game of a season doesn't even compare to those. atlantaprodj
Dan Quinn looked like Mike Smith last night. The blank looks on the sidelines and absolutely zero adjustments defensively as his team sputtered. We could have lost to any other 1-4 team but why the ******* Stains??Not to mention CBS running that video about the Gleason Statue and the post Katrina game! What I posted on Facebook to a friend who put the statue pic...I wish Gleason the best... however this was an insult to Atlanta Falcon Fans and the city of Atlanta... If I were wealthy I'd put a statue of the refugees from Katrina being welcomed into Atlanta. Somewhere in downtown Atlanta. I'd also take out billboards in New Orleans saying what a pleasure it was to welcome their friends and family to the great city of Atlanta when they needed a place to live and work. Let's put it all in perspective. As for New Orleans Aints fans they can all...
