To Sum It All Up.

I just want to say that everyone's emotions and opinions are pretty spot on. From bashing shanny to quinn to the refs. All played parts in it. Just remember, we are 5-1, alot better than we thought we would be, and we lost to a good team that was desperate. It took a perfect game by them, alot of mistakes by us,& one sided refs for them to win. I doubt that happens next time, we WILL had them their pathetic a**es next time! We got a good rest now for dinged up players and time to fix things! So let's get back on the train!

Now to cover a few things..

1st.. The shanny bashers. Can't deny this, he abandoned the run and didnt call a great game. He didnt keep us balanced, he panicked and put us in obvious passing situations and our oline isnt built for that. Matt was under heavy pressure all night.

2nd.. The Matt Ryan basher, i dont see this. Dude played pretty good especially under all the pressure. You cant blame him for that, any QB has probems under that much pressure. He had a few bad throws, but thankfully so did drew. Every QB has those throws in a game.

3rd... Stone bashers.. He's not snapping the ball correctly. Idk what is up with him, like him or hate him, he normally doesnt do that, its a big problem lately.

4th..Coleman..Dude is a change of pace back. I beem saying it all along & laughed everytime i read or heard someone saying he was better than Free. Kid has speed, but as ive been saying, he runs high. He was running careless with the football &he got it knocked out. I know some will try to say that Free fumbled last week to try to excuse it. Thing is, i dont see it being a problem with free, just a fluke. Coleman though, it could be a problem, he carries the ball wildly when he runs. Hopefully we can correct it. If so, he should be a good change of pace back, nothing more.

5th.. The refs, i understand those who complain about them. Heck im mad about them too. It was obvious who the better story was last night and goodells goons were in full force last night. They didnt lose the game for us, but if they called a fair game it would have put NO in some 1st and 20s or 3rd and 20s that may have changed a lot. Who knows.

Finally the defense... We need to improve. Worrilow is horrible. We got that dang big, fast , project corner in Collins. I would have tried putting him on watson at least. Try! He couldn't do any worst! We got a ways to go though.

Aside from the fumble I thought Coleman looked great

Like 4 carries for 40 yards, I think? I like that kid. He and free make a good tandem

I'm looking forward to the next game against the Saints, it'll be interesting to see how Quinn responds

He did look pretty good. I just want better ball security with him, he runs wildly with it. I noticed it in his college tapes and in the preseason. I think that will improve. He should be a good speedster back. I dont think he will ever be a good primary back. He's got speed, but he's not gonna run through tackles much that a lower built back like Freeman will. Just 2 different styles. I like having his fresh legs coming in with speed after Free has already worn them down some. Could be nasty.

Honestly, i have no words for him. Except maybe brick hands.

The great thing about Hanky Panky is how cheap he came. IF, IF he can cut down on the drops I think he's a valuable asset

Just a comedy of errors in the first half... The Falcons did everything except gift wrap and run the ball in for the Saints. Stone was a HUGE part of the problem. He was snapping wildly, the ball was left, it was right, it was low, it was high. When the QB has to spend so much time trying to figure out where the ball snap is going to be, it takes away from his ability to make a play. There was the blown assignment on the punt that gave up 7. A fumble on the 10, And again those snaps that caused at least two turnovers.

Julio needs to be healthy if there is going to be anything in the post season. With this hamstring issue, he is no better than average. Healthy, he makes plays that most WR's cant. then we gave up on the run.... not sure why they gave up on it rather than leaning on it. Pound the ball, wear down the defense, make them respect the run, then open the pass game up. By the third quarter the pass protection was not there. Every snap, the O-line gave ground and allowed the Saints to close the pocket quickly and efficiently. Its like the O-line lost confidence and couldnt regain it.

All in all, the Falcons beat themselves. The refs seemed a bit one sided all game but still, this was the Falcons to lose and they couldnt have done worse if they were trying to lose.

Ellerbee made a good play on the ball on the Coleman fumble, but one of the knocks on Coleman coming out was his small hands and a potential propensity to fumble. The thing is, Coleman was running the ball well, he has to do a better job at being aware of the situation and covering the ball up. But you have to Ellerbee some credit on the play also.
