Lsu @ South Carolina In Baton Rouge

It made perfect sense for them to move the game away from South Carolina because of all the flooding. What doesn't make sense was putting it in Baton Rouge and giving LSU another home game. Why couldn't the game be played in Georgia or Tennessee or somewhere else? No, I'm not talking about at Georgia's or Tennessee's stadium but there are plenty of other stadiums available. It's not like LSU wasn't gonna win anyway but it throws off the whole balance of the SEC by giving LSU an extra home game.

Playing the game anywhere else probably would have been cost prohibitive. They can play the game on the surface of the sun and South Carolina is still going to get skull dragged. I don't really see the problem.

they reached out to a few neutral site locations who couldn't get stuff ready in just 4 days so they really only had 1 option. i do like how LSU has embraced south carolina. the playing of sandstorm in the pregame and when they come out to knowing and playing the south carolina fight song. they are also giving all of the profits minus expenses from the ticket that are sold to south carolina.

You're right that South Carolina is gonna get crushed. I admitted as much in my post. That has nothing to do with this. What the problem is, is how giving LSU an extra home game throws off the competitive balance of the SEC. Florida plays at LSU next week. LSU should have been coming off a road game in a tough environment but instead they're coming off a home game while Florida is coming off a tough road game at Missouri. No matter how bad South Carolina is, it's tough to go into Columbia and win. That's the only issue here.

Well they had more than 4 days, they had flooding issues in South Carolina last week before the hurricane even got anywhere near there. Yes it's nice of LSU to try to make it a home game for South Carolina, but lets get real, the crowd is going to be 90% LSU fans just like a normal LSU home game.

well the blame can go to south carolina officials then and the sec because they just decided to contact venues earlier this week and was told 4 days wasn't enough which was why they decided on baton rouge. lsu doesn't really need to do anything, but they are doing a lot of stuff outside of what they have to in honor of south carolina and the victims of the flooding. vanderbilt also got their athletic bus full of supplies and sent it down to south carolina as well to help the victims of the flood. i agree it's a home game, but lsu imo has handled this with a lot of class. i thought the billboards welcoming south carolina as well as was a nice touch.. i also believe they were doing something at the stadium for the victim of the flood to get donations as well. since this is considered a south carolina home game lsu can only suit up 70 players. that was one issue les miles kept whining about today which i thought was stupid. he got a freaking home game.. shut up. btw right now they expect at most 50k and as little as 39k in attendence so the stadium may not even be half filled.

I am a georgia fan living in columbia sc and alot of SC fans had the same argument you did. I know the AD's met from the two schools on Wed and thats what they worked out. It did give LSU another home game. (Which did not matter because SC sucks and LSU wins either way) I also noticed that the game had lots of empty seats. I do not think a neutral field could be decided upon on short notice.
