Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. We'll see how well they hold up against our offense and defense. This team is well coached and I have every confidence we will get after Cousins and disrupt his game.

This is where the wrinkle is. I suspect that we will play them just as we did the Texans and mostly play our run front instead of our rush front. Cousins is a better QB than Mallett and if they mix things up enough (or check based on our personnel), he may be able to make those throws that Mallett couldn't because we can't get much pressure with our run front.

I'm not saying they will be successful but if I was a coach, that's the way I would approach it.

Not that simple but I disagree. I think we have controlled TOP with our 3rd down conversions with the passing game as well as positive running in early downs. We have very long drives and that can only happen with balance.

What I have been very pleasantly amazed about is that we have not been a run-heavy team, nor a pass-happy team. When we have had to, we have relied on the run. Other times we have relied on Matt Ryan and Julio.

We can choose how we kill you.

if they give us an 8 man box, Julio will eat up their awful secondary. don't put 8 in the box and Freeman will run all over them. Finally a team that's exciting to watch!

Bingo. Plus our O-Line is a million times better than the Eagles and most importantly Matt Ryan won't fold like a cheap lawn chair the way Bradford was doing last week.

Yep! That balance and most importantly how we can turn it on at anytime is a killer and defenses are annoyed to the max.

Easier to wear down a good defense than a good offense. With the offensive balance we have this year, in most games, we have the best chance to control the clock...keep our defense fresh and wear down opponents defense. One of the best shots of the Texans game was a close up of a sweating J.J. Watt with hands on hips breathing hard.

If Washington takes away the running game, Ryan extends the clock by staying with shorter patterns. Redskins can't do both and I doubt they do either for a full 60 min. I have confidence that Shanahan will out coach their defensive coordinator, and Quinn's defense will concentrate on stopping their run and make Cousins beat us with his arm. (turnovers, anyone?!)

I am worried that when we come up against a great run defense, that Shanahan will continue to try and establish a running game even when we aren't seeing the results.

Other than the Texan's game, we've made slow offensive starts in every game but manage to get the run game going as the game progresses. If a team completely shuts the run game down, it'll be interesting to see how we adapt.

It's not just the zbs. You have to have the players that fit the scheme to execute it. Give thanks to the players first THEN the system.

Nah mate, don't you even football? We could still have SJax running back there and the magical ZBS would have him going for 200 yards and 5 TD's.
