Nighteyes
I'm finally going to my first game. Taking my dad for his birthday present. Where is the best place for parking? Was thinking a Marta station. Don't know which would be best. Any help would be appreciated.

AtlantaFanatic
Parking at any MARTA station and taking the train will be the best way not to walk so far while keeping your expenses low. As far as which station, depends entirely on where you start your journey.
Duff_Man
Free parking at a lot of MARTA stations farther out. Guess which station you use depends on where you're coming from. Duff_Man
I'm coming from northwest ga.I usually stay in Dunwoody when I come down. The Dunwoody station has a parking garage (free). It's about a 25 minute trip to the Dome from there. You have to get off at Five Points and change to the Westbound train for one stop. It's actually really simple and it beats driving all the way down and paying to park. Just make sure on the way back you take the Red Line train towards North Springs from Five Points. Falcon Freddie
I usually park at and use the Hamilton E. Holmes station, which is the west most station of the MARTA East/West (Blue) line. The parking lot is comparatively easy to exit after the game, and the westbound Blue line train is a lot less crowded than the eastbound Blue line, which heads towards Five Points. Also, the westbound train is a straight shot to H.E. Holmes, takes about 10 minutes, and no transfers to other MARTA trains for other stations. For your GPS, the address for the H.E. Holmes station is:70 Hamilton E. Holmes Drive NWAtlanta, GA 30311The MARTA stations at the end of the MARTA North/South (Red) line around Dunwoody (Perimeter Mall) may be a somewhat closer drive, but it will take AT LEAST a 45 minutes train ride (transferring at Five Points) get to the station from the Georgia Dome. Overall, H.E. Homes should be a lot quicker, though will involve more driving.

Falcon Freddie
I thought about Holmes as well. I guess it depends on how west-north-west he'll be...I also come to Atlanta from the northwest by way of I-75. I drive to I-285 and then south to H.E. Holmes to catch MARTA. Compaired to catching MARTA in Dunwoody, I've learned from experience the extra distance driving is well worth it, both going to the stadium and coming from. papachaz
I'm coming from northwest ga.from Polk County, we usually go down to I 20 and ride in from the HE Holmes marta station, but duffman put the map up, look at it and see. Not only is this the best way IN, it's the best way to avoid the after game traffic tooedit: I will say though it's been YEARS since I've been to a game, so that might not be the best option any longer Edited October 7, 2015 by papachaz

I'm coming from Dalton after Sunday School, and it was packed because I got there too late. What's the time that station usually ends up being completely full? B_Lo_Touchdowns
Ga Aquarium $10. Cross the street, walk pass NCAA HOF, cut thru GWCC (AC/Heat, no crowd) Less then 10 min walk to Dome. Go in CNN center entrance next to Taco Mac $5 draft 32oz.
B_Lo_Touchdowns
DONT GET ON MARTA!!!!!
twright21
If I drive in early, I've got a $10-$15 lot one block behind the ferris wheel that I use. Easy in, easy out.As for MARTA, I use it when I'm running late. Never had an issue. Worst part is the line is long at gate D.
