sonnyjim
The only reason Miami went undefeated that year was because they had to play the AFCCG on the road. How so? Is this support for my no playoff bye theory? How did they go undefeated and play a Conference Championship on the road?

duncja
I don't like how we're labeled as a bad passing defense, we gave up 232 yards to hoyer in the 4th quarter. Without our backups giving that up, our pass defense would be 18th in the NFL.

putnam6
Tired of hearing about the Falcons "soft" schedule. Heck, it's not their fault that other teams suck. You play the schedule as the NFL has designed it to rotate. Period. I don't see what the issue is with that. You don't get a cookie for beating teams with winning records; as with any victory, it goes down in the stats simply as a W. That's it.Yep,4 weeks ago the pundits had the Eagles in the Super Bowl, the Cowboys right on their heels etc etc. Got to remember the Falcons have laid waste to the NFC East where a lot of these mediots get their bread buttered. Of course they are gonna marginalize the 4-0 start. Screw em you get better info on most message boards any way
TheFatboi
People act like because we don't play the Patriots 16 straight games that our success is illegitimate. If the Falcons weren't 4-0 right now, then they'd be complaining that they can't beat the teams they're supposed to beat. Idiots. And speaking of the pats they have played a soft schedule for years if you ask me because they always have to play their division. That's usually 6 easy games for them even when one of the other teams makes a case line Ryan's jets. Besides that they've been on a weak division since Belichik became the coach. Da Bird is Da Word
If anybody was really worried about losing to the Giants, a Weeden led Cowboys, or the Texans, you either severely underestimate your team or need to watch more tape.Yeah, I'm sure you were completely one hundred percent confident we were gonna beat the Cowboys at half time huh. Wjcorner
Yeah, I'm sure you were completely one hundred percent confident we were gonna beat the Cowboys at half time huh.yes...if you like I'll pm you the text conversation I had with coworkers where I said, 'no worries, came out flat, 2nd half will be different' Even on the board I was laughing in the official game thread telling people to stop losing their sh!t like puzzies because we're gonna win the game convincingly in the 2nd half.it was clear we were in position, we were simply making mistakes we hadn't made all year and I knew it would be corrected in the 2nd half. honestly it's good that it happened...that's the type of stuff that makes it pretty much a proven fact that the system works. play within it, do your job, and we'll dominate. come out flat like you're some type of juggernaut against a JV team and you'll be dominated. probably a major reason we came out and dominated against Houston. Is this support for my no playoff bye theory? How did they go undefeated and play a Conference Championship on the road?Because it was back in the day when playoff game sites were on a yearly rotation. Pittsburgh hosted the AFCCG the week after the Immaculate Reception despite Miami's undefeated record.
anm263
What's funny is that they're talking about the Falcons not getting to the Quarterback, that they only have 5 sacks and at the same time they are playing clips where you can see Bradford and Weeden getting hit before they throw an INT.Our D is getting lots of pressure on the QB's, they are hitting them, even if they aren't getting the sack. Our defensive stats are misleading, Houston got most of their passing yards once we pulled all of our defensive starters.

They play who they are asked to play and if they are winning then that's great. Sick of that statement. "Oh their schedule is soft." The schedule doesn't dictate how good we are. We are the same team no matter who we play. **** Skip

You don't get a cookie for beating teams with winning records; as with any victory, it goes down in the stats simply as a W. That's it.Here's another thing about the schedule. Generally the schedule between teams is just hundreds of decimal points apart.1. Pittsburgh Steelers: 147-107-2, .57932. Atlanta Falcons: 104-150-2, .409So the Steelers' opponents are just over .500. Ours are just under. Statistically insignificant. Edited October 7, 2015 by fuego
Xfactor
You play the schedule given to you and if we beat Washington we just swept the NFC East.
ratesforless
No one in the national media would be crying about the 'soft' schedule if one of their darling teams were 4-0, like the Eagles, Cowboys, Saints, et al. You play who is across from you; any given Sunday, an NFL team can beat you...
fuego
Skip said because of our schedule he thinks we could easily be 15-1 or 14-2 and an underrated team in when considering the schedule. But in a vacuum we are overrated.

I remember our 2012 season people saying we played a soft schedule (which was total BS). It helps them get over the fact that a team they don't like is winning. Dem Birds
Its make or break with the Falcons. If they win its too easy for them.If they lose then they drop to the bottom half of the league and are overrated.Meanwhile the Panthers are toughing out hard wins. The pats are just so dominant.Aaron Rodgers is Michael Jordan. The Broncos don't need Peyton. The Bengals are finally living up to potential (they say this every year by the way)Honestly, it's pretty hilarious lol. It used to bug me but it's hard not to chuckle now
