Dawggone
Not understanding the push to get Olivera in LF. Aren't we crowded in the OF and thin at third? Is his defense a liability at third? Is there another plan at third?
Unknøwn
Braves want versatility. If they find a bat to play 3B they still want Olivera in the lineup. Its mainly about keeping all options open.
Unknøwn
Mark Bowman lists some potential targets for FA. He names Wieters, Iannetta, Soria, Broxton, Clippard, O'Day, Sipp, Buehrle, Fister and Gallardo. He does add Buerhle may retire. He says the Braves still want AJ back but his market might not allow that. AL teams are lining up for AJ's services. He says Moylan and Edwin could return on incentive based minor league deals. Psychic Gibbon
Olney says that Olivera is transitioning to OF and Bo Porter is going to teach him how to play defense there. I'm not sure if that's permanent or more of what has already been said about making Olivera versatile though.

Unknøwn
Mark Bowman listed DeRosa as a top candidate for the managers job should it come open. He also says JS and Hart were legitimately embarrassed by the teams second half. They plan to be better in 2016 to generate excitement for SunTrust. Guest facelessman07
In 2018, maybe. That was more of a tongue-in-cheek remark. Especially considering the fact that Riley was just drafted this yearBut I thought that was obvious
Guest facelessman07
DeRosa would be an intriguing candidate. Admittedly, I'd love to see a former Braves player eventually take over the managing duties*cough* Chipper *cough*And before anyone says it, yes I realize that Chipper probably doesn't want that title bestowed upon him right now...yet... I love him to death but is he really ready for something like that, especially if the Braves plan to compete in 2017? Unknøwn
DeRosa has never coached. Bowman said everyone has always raved about his communication skills going back to his rookie year.

usmcdirtybird
I would like to pull Samarjia (sp), Howie Kendrick and Lucroy. I think they all can help building forward.
Guest Homer the Brave
Hard to believe the Braves will pay Minor over $5M again in 2016 after paying him over $5M this year to not throw a single pitch.Minor has become the new Mike Hampton. He is a real jerk for having stupid nagging injuries. He has screwed the Braves like Hampton. Drop him like a bad habit before this happens again! Guest Homer the Brave
Braves will wear a Turner Field patch next season to mark the final year thereThat's real touching. I'm sure there will be a majestic sketch in the background of Kasim Reed staring off into the great beyond.

Falconsfan567
Peter Gammons said the Braves have no interest in WeitersWhat does he know? In his old age the only team he knows or cares anything about is the Red Sox. He only time he ever shows up on tv is when its something concerning the Red Sox. There once was a time when he was the best in the business but those days are gone like the wind.
K26dp
According to DOB, the mysterious OF Dian Toscano, signed to a four-year deal last off-season, has been cleared to play for the Braves.
Psychic Gibbon
MLB Network will be showing an Arizona Fall League game at 2:30. The Peoria Javelinas, the team the Braves feed into, will be one of the teams playing.

Falconsfan567
The Orioles extended a QO to him. That should squash whatever interest they had in him.Yep. Would be stupid for the Braves to give up a draft pick to sign Wieters. Would be stupid for any team.
Unknøwn
The Braves pick is protected.
Psychic Gibbon
The Braves pick is protected. They still forfeit their 2nd round pick... Maybe the supplemental pick they got from the Dodgers/Marlins trade, but I'm not sure about that one. At any rate, with the team still focused on building the farm system they probably value those picks more than what Weiters offers.
