K26dp
He is a pompous jerk. He knows a lot but uses that to belittle those not at his level. I'm with you on this one.Not my intention, sorry if I come across that way. That said, if I think you're wrong, I reserve the right to tell you so and why I think that way. You can choose to either counter-argue (and possibly convince me that I'm wrong -- it's happened), or thank me for my time and my perspective. And yes, I totally recognize that last sentence was pompous. Unknøwn
Bowman had an article today on the front office being hard at work. Coppy and some of the entourage went to Arizona to take in some fall league action. Hart said he expects the team to be much more competitive in 2016. He said the team is now looking at moves that are more than just to dump a contract which puts them in better position. The greater financial flexibility wont be soon until winter 2016. Bowman also says the Braves think Austin Riley will be their #1 prospect very soon.
usmcdirtybird
If San Fran drops Marlon Byrd. How would you guys feel about a 1 yr min contract. Like KJ, AJ. I would love to bring Uribe back.

Unknøwn
AJ will be back and we'll try to get KJ back IMO. Byrd will probably command a few million which the Braves probably dont want to pay him. Uribe would be ok for a low price

usmcdirtybird
Not to mention the Braves already have Bourn, Swisher, Markakis, Maybin, Perez and others on the roster.True, I do see Maybin getting traded (to move the salary) for something larger. Just a feeling. Bourn and Swisher will be here and that is more for 2017. Build the bullpen and 1 bat this year and grab major talent for 2017 with our draft choice. Looking better. Finally, Go Royals
Falconsfan567
The bullpen should be very good next year with the guys we got coming back from injury like Jason Grilli, Shae Simmons and Chris Withrow. Add in how well Arodys Vizcaino pitched and that's 4 solid arms right there. Losing Paco Rodriguez was a huge blow so I expect the Braves to go out and get another LOOGY to pair with Matt Marksberry. Marksberry pitched very well against LHB. His problem was his idiot manager leaving him out there to get crushed against RHB.I also expect the Braves to go out and get a veteran starting pitcher. Unknøwn
They might add a SP but they might just keep Minor and plug him back in. The position to watch for me is catcher. Will they try to sign Wieters or look to the trade market. Hart said they would be creative with the position so that would make you think they'll look for a trade. I would be surprised if they don't trade for someone to fill the need.

He has bad knees, he has a grating personality, and it's not like his production makes him worthwhile. The money the Indians sent over in the deal makes the decision easier. Swisher is nothing more than a warm body at this point and Bourn isn't much better. I wish they would cut him too but that is probably wishful thinking. Falconsfan567
Sipp would be a good addition. He's got good numbers against both LHB and RHB.
usmcdirtybird
I would like to go after Baez and/or Soler from the Cubs. They want pitching and maybe we can pry both from them. Christmas wish.

I doubt they'd revisit those negotiations, but I wouldn't mind swapping Teheran for Soler, Contreras, and a lower level bat.
K26dp
Andrelton Simmons was named as a finalist for the Gold Glove Award at shortstop. His competition is San Francisco's Brandon Crawford and Miami's Adeiny Hechavarria.

Unknøwn
Braves sign Chris Volstad to a minor league deal with a Spring invite. They also signed 2 others to minor league deals but they did not get Spring invites.Connor Little, 25, was rated the No. 8 independent-league prospect by Baseball America and posted a 1.70 ERA and 0.824 WHIP (walks-plus-hits per inning pitched) in 51 appearances last season in two leagues. The 6-foot-6 right-hander had a 1.19 ERA and 90 strikeouts with 14 walks in 68 innings (47 appearances) for Evansville in the Frontier League.Left-hander Bryan Morgado, a Phillies fourth-round draft pick in 2010 out of the University of Tennessee, spent parts of three seasons in the Phillies organization without making it past high Single-A ball. He pitched the past three seasons in independent leagues and was 4-6 with a 4.00 ERA in 32 games (10 starts) for Lancaster of the Atlantic League in 2015, totaling 71 strikeouts and 28 walks in 72 innings
Unknøwn
Scouts are clocking RP Mauricio Cabrera's fastball at 102 on a regular basis in Arizona. The problem is his control isnt good and his other pitches need a lot of work. After 3 games his ERA in the AFL is 12.27. Cabrera just turned 22 so theres still time to hope. Unknøwn
Seitzer is in Puerto Rico to serve as Olivera's personal hitting coach. Once his time is up he'll be replaced by Bo Porter. Porter will then teach Olivera LF. Braves are ivesting a lot into Olivera.
