DonDaLuvMaker
Hmmmmmmm.....So they are admitting that the Lions got screwed.
Jesus
If they didn't hold Russell Wilson might have been killed tonight. That line is completely awful. They won because of butterfingers Megatron....what has happened to him?
DMT11
At least ESPN stopped the broadcast and put that out there - not like the NFL would have admitted it ......lions should have won that game.
DonDaLuvMaker
The NFL is all over the place in regards to the rules that no one knows much of anything anymore.

AAllInFlynn
Seahag's offense is in disarray right now. If not for Russell Wilson and his ability to create something out of nothing their offense would have stalled on almost every possession. As it was, they still needed a miracle strip of Calvin Johnson from Cam Chancellor to win, and mind you that was against Detroit. I do not believe they will be contenders this year. The west will be between the Lambs and the Cardinals...
jgentry162
It was a fun game to watch, with a twelve pack and a good dog. Or was that a bottle of wine and a good woman? Well if the dog kisses me good nite, I will know it is my wife
WOR
Missed fouls happen. What's inexcsuable are the amount of mistakes that happen when the refs are staring RIGHT AT THE PLAY. I can't tell you how many times something like willy mo posted has happened. It's happened a handful of times in just falcon games. It's understandable to miss a few things in a fast paced game but when you're staring right at it....that just wreaks of rigging a game. Mid-Nite-Toker
Missed call, but the right team won.Came down to both teams arguably best players and the Seahawks made the play.

KRUNKuno
It was blatantly obvious even in real time that dude batted the ball out of the endzone. Even somebody that doesnt know football probably knows that's wrong.

fuego
The biggest problem was that the back endzone ref was looking right at KJ Wright.Exactly. He clearly saw him do it. And to say that they judged it was inadvertent is disingenuous. They gave the Seahawks that call knowing full well what they were doing. And the Seahawks did not look like that good of a team. FentayeJones
That seemed like an easy call to make to me...that was something even a replacement ref shold have known

I thought if nobody "possessed" the football in the end zone and it went out the back it was a touch back.

I thought if nobody "possessed" the football in the end zone and it went out the back it was a touch back. You can not intentionally bat a ball out of the endzone according to the head of officials and the VP of officiating. It should have been a penalty on the Seahawks and the Lions get the ball back on about the one foot line.It was a blatant non-call by the ref. He was staring right at it. I thought if nobody "possessed" the football in the end zone and it went out the back it was a touch back.No player on either team can "bat" the ball in either endzone. If the defense commits the penalty, the possession returns to the offense and a 10 yard penalty (or half the distance to the goal). fuego
Dean Blandino, NFL VP of Officiating, on KJ Wright batting the ball out of the end zone: "Judgment call on the field. Back judge felt it wasn't overt. That's why he didn't call it on the field."That was a blatant non-call to give the Seahawks the win. Not 'overt'? So it's ok if it's intentional as long as it isn't overt? Come on. Edited October 6, 2015 by fuego

The fact they discussed it and back judge said it wasn't overt is unacceptable. It's not a judgement call, he either batted it or he didn't. How can you say he didn't intentionally bat the ball.. You can't
