Tandy
Check this out -Week 3Quarter 3 = Falcons scored 8 points, Cowboys 0 pointsQuarter 4 = Falcons scored 14 points, Cowboys 0 pointsWeek 4Quarter 1 = Falcons scored 7 points, Texans 0 pointsQuarter 2 = Falcons scored 21 points, Texans 0 pointsQuarter 3 = Falcons scored 14 points, Texans 0 points8+14+7+21+14 = 64 POINTS Over 5 quarters = 64 UNANSWERED Points.Incredible.Oh - and if you add in the fact that we kicked a field goal to end the 2nd quarter in week 3, that's actually 67 straight points without allowing a single point.Go Defense - and Offense!Rise Up! crimsonhawk
It has been mentioned before, but it's such an awesome stat, I think many here will probably not mind it being mentioned again! Of course there are SOME (and you negative nancy types know who you are) that will object....but hey, f***em!

sdogg
It appears Quinn has done what Smith could never figure out. How to come out int the 3rd qtr and play like the SB is on the line. Under Smith, the team just came out of the half flat and disinterested in winning.

papachaz
awesome stat Tandy! I absolutely LOVE 5 quarters of the defense giving up NO points. Needless to say, if the starters had stayed in all game sunday, it may very well have been a shutout to make that

Falconsfan567
Definitely mentioned this during the game. When's the last time the Falcons shutout an opponent for 5 straight quarters?
falconidae
There was a thread about getting to four quarters and outscoring the opponent 50-0, but not the 5th quarter that I remember.
BCEagleATLFalcon
Probably would have been even more if we'd left our starters in! That fourth quarter was nothing more than a scrimmage (and we STILL finished it with a defensive touchdown).

delaigle
WOW ignore game 1 and game 2 then just draw lines anywhere say 2nd half of game 3 and after 3rd qtr of game 4But the Texans did answer with 21 points in 4th quarter ( yea against many backups)so subtract 21 from your

Show me where we did this last year, the year before? In fact, show me the last time we did this while scoring 60+ points? I'm curious now. Fiddlin John Carson
Some more HUGE tit bits:Birds are 2nd in 3rd down conversions3rd in total first downs3rd in points per game1st in rushing td's3rd in sacks allowedAnd have ZERO FREAKIN fumbles. The defensive stats are middle of the road, but Quinn cares more about getting back ups game time than stats....and the defense has played way better than stats indicate. Those are HUGE FREAKIN TIT BITS

Feels like the team is gelling in a way I'm excited about!Yeah, of course, you could put that up as a headline for the Texans. But it doesn't hold up under further scrutiny. Tandy's stat does. Just how many times do you think a team has gone 5 quarters and outscored the opposition 64 to nothing? It's something worth noting.
