dirtybird2k5
That one player would probably make this defense into a top 5 defense. It's not gonna happen... but just close your eyes... and imagine Watt on the strong side rushing the passer... *ejaculates*LMMFAO I can say ejaculates... Califalcon0013
Jj watt is a very good player ,but people seem to forget that he plays in the easiest division in football the afc south who has the worst oline 10 years now and no good Qbs but luck who is a turnover machine
B3TD
I think Andrew Luck is a poor example in this, because he is one of the most overhyped football players in the NFL. He wasn't ever really all that good. The guy got a lot of lucky bounces.Look no farther than your own quarterback, Mr. Matt Ryan.... and his 10-22 record the last two years. Team sport. That may end up being true, but at very least the poor supporting cast exposes it.Ryan vs. Ryan is actually a better example, except what he did behind no O line was remarkable. The cast got much better this year. Scho... (who happens to be my favorite Falcon, Dirty Bird all day, baby!) Quinn, (HC) 99, Reed, Durant, 20, 32, 22.......... I mean... come on. 77... 96, 94... Shooting gaps. Did you see that play that 21 made today? And the best part of the day? Number 11 got to sit down after the first quarter. Because number 11 is gonna take us to the promised land. 50 years of Atlanta Falcon football. Fifty years of the Super Bowl. 50 + 50 = 100. AF89
This is why a defensive players don't win MVPs. He's the best in the league by a wide margin and even played very well today. Still didn't effect the game much.

It didn't matter much because Ryan either never held the ball long, or knew how to move around the pocket to avoid his pressure. The guy is seriously a monster, but I feel sorry for him, the defense is chock full of 1st rounders but he's the only one who consistently shows up. The JJ Watt golden years are getting wasted like Matt Ryan the last 2 seasons. Edited October 5, 2015 by MilleniumFalcon

The JJ Watt golden years are getting wasted like Matt Ryan the last 2 seasons. The texans got rid of their "franchise" QB Schaub and "franchise" WR Johnson. Yeah they were having down years and weren't producing, but this just shows that you can't just get rid of your best players as a knee-jerk reaction to a bad season and expect to replace them immediately in the draft/free agent lottery.JJ watt single-handedly turned a 2-win season into a 9 win season last year. Imagine what they could have done if they still had Schaub? Schaub to Johnson was the heart of their offense.

Have to appreciate Matt Ryan while we have him looking at all the terrible QB play around the NFL and lack of QB's with fundamentals in the college game... Falconjerome
I do remember Clowney running right at Matt Ryan, Matt throwing up a prayer and Devonta coming down with it for a gain of like 3.And Watt had a sack and a few swatted passes. Really shocked by how bad Wilfork was though.^^^This right here
sonnyjim
Wilfork has been bad all year. Clowney is coming along but is still playing like a rookie. I told people their D wasn't very good outside Watt lol.Cushing.
wleggett
JJ dominates any lineman in front of himYea the guy is easily the best defensive player hands down I think. Even when he was obviously gassed still getting up in the air to swat at balls. Plus who is off the field... Can't ask for a better individual player.
