FalconFanSince1970
OP is right. Pass rush is nonexistent. Rushing four and getting stoned. I've even seen a few three man rushes. On pace for 20 sacks. That would probably be the worst sack total in franchise history. Need to bring some blitzes. Thank goodness we've played some weaksauce QBs. likeriver
This has probably been posted, but OP technically is right. http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/110163/matt-ryan-devonta-freeman-not-enough-to-push-falcons-into-top-5 Quinn’s Seahawks did not blitz very often from 2013 to 2014, but they didn’t have to. They blitzed on 27 percent of opponent dropbacks, which was eighth lowest in the NFL during that span. They pressured quarterbacks on 30 percent of dropbacks during that time, the highest rate in the NFL. This season is a different story, with a Falcons defense that is still early in the rebuilding process. Atlanta has sent five or more pass-rushers on 15 percent of opponent dropbacks through four games, the second-lowest rate in the NFL. No one has pressured opposing quarterbacks less frequently than the Falcons so far this season (13 percent of opponent dropbacks). With this in mind, I am optimistic. Even though we have the least pressure in the league, we're also the second-lowest blitzing team. I think Quinn is trying to train our D-line to rush the passer without help. If he can pull off that feat, this defense could be dangerous with a 4 man front getting pressure and 7 men to cover in the backfield. kiwifalcon
I'll take 4 turnovers and only 1 sack on defense every day of the week. If that's not good enough for people here than I feel sorry for you.If you are worried about what may happen against the Packers in the playoffs 3 months from now with our pass rush and can't focus on the 4-0 start with this team kicking azz. I also feel sorry for you. They gotta look for something man I tell ya.

knomercy
I thought we had good push against the only 2 decent QB's we played, Eli & Mr. Glass. The other 2 QB's are dumpster fires & we obviously schemed for the run.I'm not worried about it. We're ahead of schedule in a "re-tooling" year & we're 4-0. Texans game looked like a good start.Eli is not weak sauce and the defense definitely turned that game around.
YoungHeezy
Our pass rush will look much better than it has once our linebackers (and sometimes safeties) stop letting 5 yard passes turn into 15 yard gains.
Monolith2001
The real clue was in the first page. We ran our run D a lot. I suspect we anticipated Houston trying to push Foster and Blue down our throat. If you look at the snap counts, Beasley and Claiborne were near the bottom whereas they are usually at our towards the top. Guest Negatorris
"No one has pressured opposing quarterbacks less frequently than the Falcons so far this season (13 percent of opponent dropbacks)."I want to know directly from those people who kept claiming in the beginning of this thread that we were getting a lot of pressure so it didn't matter that we have only 5 sacks. Some of ya'll will lie to yourselves to make the Falcons seem better than they actually are. Outside of Beasley, Babs, and Hageman nobody else can sniff the QB consistently. For a guy who was doing all this exotic training in the offseason, Clayborn has been a failure. Luckily there will be plenty of guys we can get through FA and the draft. I'm hoping for Bruce Irvin, Tamba Hali, or Aldon Smith(risky but Quinn can whip him into shape). And in the draft, adding Leonard Floyd would be great for the pass rush. If Clayborn ends the season with 4 to 6 sacks being a rotational DT/DE, then that is a success. Again, that would be very Seattle like.
