Rare Love For Ryan

Ryan has always gotten love from those who actually watch the games.

Here's what they said about Ryan:

Matt Ryan hasn't been flashy this season, but he's played his best in the fourth quarter during Atlanta's three comeback victories. He's great against pressure. This is the Matt Ryan we've seen throughout his career; he's just getting more help now from his line and running game.

He would be 3 but for some reason the writer felt the need to give one last shout out of love to Big Ben in spite of the injury.

Have you looked at Roethlisbergers stat line this season he's completeing over 75%. I know hes injured but he deserved top 3. After this week though he shouldn't be there.

It's not that Ryan doesn't get any love, it's just that the rankings are so capricious based on silly things like whether the team is winning or not. If you guys remember, this offseason the NFL did a top 10 ranking of quarterbacks and Matt Ryan wasn't listed. Alex Smith was placed in the #10 spot above him. But now, suddenly we're winning and Matt Ryan is getting top 5 cred, even though he's playing no better (maybe even worse) than last year.

Also, to be fair, one of the reasons Ryan is so high is because there's a void from where Brees and Manning used to be.

Yea but he didn't out play Ryan this week. Since these are weekly ratings that should be taken into consideration. Luckily for us we should see Vick at the bottom of the list for the next 4-6 weeks.

Not true...they always place Drew Brees if he's playing in the top tier even if the Aints were losing.
