3 Reasons Why The Cowboys Will Beat The Falcons In Week 3

The Dallas Cowboys may have lost Tony Romo to a broken clavicle in Sunday's victory over the Eagles, but they're 2-0 and are looking to continue that undefeated start on Sunday against the Falcons. Here are three reasons why they'll do just that:

3) Underrated defense

The Cowboys have been sneaky good on the defensive side of the ball, ranking 6th in scoring defense after allowing just 18 points per game through their first few games and third in total yards allowed. This unit will have to carry Dallas given the injuries to Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, and they've shown they have the ability to do so.

2) Atlanta has been more lucky than good to this point

Atlanta has pulled off two fourth-quarter comeback victories against the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants, both of whom haven't won a game yet. Dallas is certainly a step up in competition, and their lack of a running game (80.5 yards per game, 22nd in the league) will hurt them a lot early in this one. If the Cowboys hold a lead in the first half, they won't collapse late like the Eagles and Giants have.

1) Offensive line dominance

The NFL hasn't seen an offensive line this stacked since the Cowboys' dynasty in the 1990s. Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick and Zack Martin are all among the best at their positions. Doug Free and Ronald Leary both played well last season. Leary might even lose his job to La'El Collins, a first round talent who went undrafted. The Cowboys even spent a third round pick on Chaz Green to be their swing tackle of the future.

Their dominance has made Joseph Randle a featured back, and they'll keep Brandon Weeden upright, giving them the best chance to win despite the many injuries Dallas has suffered. The flash in the Cowboys' attack may be gone, but the grit and grind is there and better than ever.

Yep... But i hope thats the approach the Cowboys take to the Falcons.

They will be the next NFCE team to figure out "Luck" only matters when talking about wins. The falcons are still 2-0. Just think if we add skill to our luck this week?

This is why I am so offended when being called a Homer.

I say a lot to get under people's skin, but I know better than to say a win is luck. Every win is earned, regardless of circumstances.

I don't mind the luck comments. But to think that is the only way we win. Is dumb.

How many times under Mike Smith did we get called lucky. But it's always after we win. I would rather win with luck than lose for any excuse.

That's what the author seems to miss. Now I can see if we lose and he said we are lucky or it would have been a blow out.

But it's the start of a season. We are 2 and 0. We still haven't seen the best Falcons ball. We know we can do better. The mistakes we made are fixable.

So if anyone thinks this is as good as we get. Don't be shocked when we all get on the same page and strike like a surgeon.

Ive thought the same about Dallas, before the injuries.

Still, to this day, 2 weeks after the fact, people are trying to blame the refs for Dallas winning week 1.

However, for some reason, these same pathetic, biased fans have nothing to say about Dallas winning week 2 despite being penalized 18 times for 142 yards.

Excuses...excuses...excuses...

He brings up Joseph Randle but to this point he has not looked impressive. 3.4 rushing average for arguably the greatest line assembled since the nineties doesn't sound that great either.

Against New York Randle carried the ball 16 times for 65 yards, a YPC of 4.1.

Against Philly Randle carried the ball 18 times for 51 yards, YPC of 2.8. Dallas was rotating Bernadeau and Collins at LG all game because Leary was hurt. Dallas struggled against Philly's Dline last year. Murray had a 3.1 YPC against the Eagles.

So, all this doom and gloom seems a little premature.

Where does anything you say change what I say? Randle may have a 4.1 average, but he doesn't get the ball a while, does he? Why not? He is not looking a like a workhouse back.

The team has a 3.4 average. That's not very good either. Nothing you said or tried to explain matters. It is what it is right now.

Its hard to run down 2 scores in the 2nd half or being behind the chains due to penalties.
