On the list of problems, concerns and needs for the Falcons, William Moore's tackling is way down the **** list. Let's face it beyond Julio no Falcon is beyond a

critical eye every game, but once the season starts you have to roll with what you have. I'll take Willie Mo's big hit, intercepting abilities and veteran leadership over whom ever we can put in to replace him in most games. It's not like the guy who beat him doesn't have skills either.

hope he barked at himself some for those missed tackles he had. dry.png

Oh Willy, how funny thou art. He played a decent game but it was his play that allowed them to score after he was too busy to form tackle on third down. We got the win and it was a team effort.

Appreciate the veteran leadership in a fairly young secondary, but Moore needs to take a long, long look in the mirror. He didn't give up the Beckham TD, but he was directly responsible for it.

Um.

""I just said that we were way better than that," Moore said. "I said that we just needed to know our assignments. They shouldn't have been catching things like that. I said, 'I would put my DBs against any receiver, any day.' And they knew that. It was about the whole group, including me. We needed to get back in position to be on our stuff."

Also, can we kill this whole expectation that the other team will never make any good plays and our players will never make any bad plays? It's like, there's a way to acknowledge that Moore needs to improve on some aspects but that, at the same time, without him, we might not have won this game. Like he can't be critical of our defense as a whole if he makes any mistakes.

Seriously.

I hate this board sometimes, Moore shows some leadership and talks up his group and our defense ends up helping greatly win this game and we have a ton of drive by snide remarks and quips. You all really suck sometimes, we won and even if he made some mistakes during the game at least he gave a **** enough to try and help his team mates.

Moore misses some tackles but who doesnt? Besides, I can only remember Moore missing one tackle in the game yesterday so I really dont know what all the drama is all about - he had a solid game. Dude is the leader in the secondary and if he didnt he everybody's mind right on the sideline, maybe we would have had a different outcome. And from what I could tell, he included himself as needing to play better in his message to the DBs.

Really? You know understand?

His missed tackle came on third down while on the Giants side of the 50. He missed the tackle and they got a first INSTEAD OF PUNTING. Know what happened after that? The long ODB touchdown.

So yeah, missing 1 tackle is drama because it cost us 7 points.

What worries me is that Allen has been benched a series in both games thus far. It could be punishment, could be rest, but it kinda bothers me.

It's a good thing, he is still learning the position but it shows he is on the field because he earned it. If he screws up he gets benched. After reading how dedicated he is I'm sure he will take it well and try harder.

Love to see Willy Mo jacked up, moving all over the field with speed, and head hunting. We need those spirited words from him & others too!

Justin Durant has been awesome out there each week. The guy plays like his hair is on fire. He pursues like a cheetah & hits like a lion.

All the Mizzou hammer needs to do to improve his game is one main thing. Everyone on this board, including him, knows what it is.

He needs to better distinguish when to break down and make an OPEN FIELD TACKLE, and when to lay the wood. Two classic WillyMo plays are when he thumped the snot out of Jordan Matthews. And when he filled the running lane like a champ and put a wicked shot on Giants RB Andre Williams.

Those are all classic willy mo hammer time plays, but everyone can plainly see when he needs to break down and prevent a big play in the open field. Surely DQ & WM will be discussing this in the film room today. Especially in light of the fact that this was one of the offseason areas to improve upon. Handwritten by DQ himself.

Proud of the falcs.

There are plenty of reasons why the opposing teams score points. The last time I checked, teams are not going to lay down for the Falcons and are gonna make plays too and that was a very nice spin move Vereen made. Some of y all are beng so dramatic over that one play. Edited by FentayeJones

Form tackling isn't about being in position. It's about actually trying to soundly tackle an opposing player. Guy was talking about coverage, not his inability (or lack of want to) to wrap up. I love Moore. Savvy vet who can make some very good plays at the SS position, but he's extended countless drives by not doing the most rudimentary things.

Actually being in position encompasses all including tackling. A part of tackling is taking proper angles of which you have to be in position for.

I don't even think he mentioned coverage in all of his quotes. He said "position" and "assignments."

That's everything involved. If I know my assignment, then I can be in position to tackle properly, play the ball, etc.

Of course he is entitled to make mistakes and everyone loves fiery leaders and he can be critical of our defense just as fans can be critical of his piss poor tackle. As I said it was a team effort to come together and win.

I appreciate Willy Mo, his skills and his veteran leadership but I am not massively bothered by our DBs, who other than Trufant, are probably not going to be amazingly effective on one of the top WRs in the league. I am bothered by a top league safety missing critical tackles trying to lay wood. That is all.

While the missed tackle gave up the 1st down it did NOT give up the TD. A missed assignment did that. I'd rather a missed tackle than a misses assignment. The tackle should've been made true indeed but it's not easy to tackle a shifty runner in open field. A spin move was put on him. It was not a straight up missed tackle. Obviously you didn't read where Ricardo Allen got benched for missing the tackle that OBJ scored the long TD on. Moore is NOT to blame for that. HIS blame is HIS missed tackle on 3rd down.

For all the "mistakes" that people keep rehashing, it's pretty clear that the rant worked. Following the Giants TD in their opening possession of the second half, they DID NOT SCORE A SINGLE POINT, while we proceeded to put up 14. The defense noticeably got more aggressive, and the offense responded by delivering two clutch drives to win the game.

It was a spin move man. It wasn't like he missed the tackle straight up. Moore was not the only guy that missed a tackle on vereen yesterday. He made multiple guys miss. Worrilow missed a tackle that lead to a 37 yard pickup. Nobody is talking about that because Bierrman got a strip sack. Moises tackles are going to happen because the guy on the other side of the ball gets paid to make plays too!!

1. He missed Vareen, not Beckham. The 3-man coverage breakdown on the next play cost 7 points.

2. You can't blame imperfect execution for every score. The Giants are professionals too. They were going to make some plays no matter how well we played. Yes Moore should have wrapped him up, but that was a nice open field move by Vareen.

3. He showed fire and some leadership. I value that over an occasional missed tackle. Ronnie Lott wasn't perfect, either
