The giants suck but then always find a way to win.

I don't know if you watched their game last week against the Cowboys or not but the Giants should have won that game but both their coach and QB should be blamed for blowing it. A run play or even taking a sack at the end would have saved the game for the Giants but instead they throw an incomplete pass which gives the Cowboys just enough time to come back.

This only assures me that we have the edge in any close game against the Giants as Ryan has proven time after time his late game skills.

We do but still Coughlin has some kind of deal with the devil. Dude just stumbles into luck. Maybe its run out.

It's so dumb to make a game preview considering what teams did last year. It's just like that strength of schedule crap. Why is the record of a team form last year relevant? There are Playoff teams that suck the next season or teams that barely won some games the year before and the next season it's one of the strongest. Total absence of common sense

McClure has been with us for the last two seasons and grown accustomed to losing thanks to Coach Smith, but he needs to snap the fu.. out of it and get use to Quinning. Even Victor Cruz knows what Julio and the Falcons are going to do to his Giants.

FALCONS VS. GIANTS

Atlanta Falcons: The Giants are far from being a dominant team, but the fact that they host this game and are coming off a bad Week 1 loss against the Cowboys is bad news for the Falcons. There is some uncertainty about Julio Jones' status coming off a hamstring injury, which could affect the flow of the offense. Not to mention the Falcons have not had success on the road against the Giants, losing three in a row there, including a playoff loss. Although Eli Manning lacks his full stable of playmakers, the running game tandem of Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams, who combined for 120 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Falcons last season, might be too much, even for an improved Falcons defense to overcome. Giants 24, Falcons 21. -- Vaughn McClure

New York Giants: I expect the Giants' offense to function better this week than it did Week 1 in Dallas, especially if it can get the ball before the 11th minute of the game this time around. And I understand the Falcons are a lousy road team that's lost seven straight road games outside the NFC South (including one last year against the Giants). But I just don't have any faith in the Giants' ability to stop Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and the Falcons' offense. The Giants pressured Tony Romo on just six of his 45 dropbacks last week (third-lowest percentage in the league), while Ryan was pressured by the Eagles on just three of his 37 dropbacks (lowest percentage in the league).Falcons 28, Giants 24. -- Dan Graziano

Yep, our road record sucks. 0-0 is terrible.

Seriously, this team has mostly a new coaching staff and, I'm guessing, the most roster turnover of any team in the league. How could we possibly be judged on previous seasons?

McClure had us going 8-8 in his predictions before the season started, and losing to the giants. I guess Quinn hasn't yet shown him enough to make him change his mind. He predicted we'd beat the iggles, so no surprise there (in his mind.)

Yeah I didn't bother finishing his analysis, he clearly knows nothing about the Falcons. McClure's being a glass half empty guy in his but I understand it for now. We'll change his and a lot of other people's minds soon though.

for someone who is around the team a lot, I expect McClure to know a bit better. Like come on dude, we have a brand new coaching staff and a brand new defensive scheme, don't give me any of this ******** 120 yards rushing against us last year. That counts for jack. Also you should know Julio is fine, its been mentioned several times by Quinn.

I've read several posts that say "this is not Mike Smith's team, the past means nothing."

That is 100% correct. Remember that if we fall flat on our face. It is tough to go on the road, on short rest, after a big emotional win at home. Every team struggles with that. If we hit a speed bump this week, it doesn't mean "same ole Falcons." There are things that are difficult for anyone in the league. Don't expect a new coach to change that. Should we fail, don't read too much into it.

I know that there will be 50, "I really thought this team was different," posts if we lose. Well, this team is different. Stubbing your toe in a scenario that has tripped up Superbowl Champions for 49 years isn't reason to doubt yourself.

I think we are better than the Giants. That said, it wouldn't be shocking to me if we get tripped up.

Did he watch how the Giants ended their game? lol

The Giants suffered a tough loss Sunday night to Dallas, while the Falcons impressed in beating the Eagles on Monday night. The Atlanta defense showed big flaws in the second half, and that will show up here. The Giants offense gets rolling in their home opener. Work on that clock management, though. ATL.png Atlanta

lol

and the one TD was from the 1 yard line after an INT

Exactly!

Confident bunch in here.

McClure said nothing wrong and is absolutely right. We suck on the road especially outdoors. We've played one game and it could have very well gone the other way.

A win would be great, but this game is not going to be easy by any means.

Recently, yes. But I chalk up the last two years as anomalies. On the road, you pack a defense and a running game, something we haven't had for two years. I think we have both this year, at least enough to win on the road with.

Even if we lost on Monday, I would feel the same way. I'm not trying to expect a blowout, but I'm really finding it HARD to find anybody for the defense to worry about scoring points. Add in a weak pass rush and terrible LBs and now it's hard for me to worry about the offense not putting up points.

It's one thing being cautious and respecting your opponent. It's another thing to give your opponent too much credit. Don't turn the ball over. The Giants had 14 points off turnovers (DRC TD and the pick six, even though he was downed at the 1, that's 7 in my book). The offense put up 12 points. Shows they don't have that much in terms of weaponry.
