Sidecar Falcon
But... But...Those picks were our future. Surely one player isn't worth more than those players that were picked? Sarcasm off.
Sponge
Cleveland would have picked a kicker anyway. We just gave them more chances to screw up.

gazoo
Troffed! It's obvious with a clear cut, competent scheme, the GM and coaching staff on same page, that building depth is rather simple. Just look at we did in a single offseason. This team is deeper than its been in years. While it's rather simple to pick up plenty of good depth players via FA, it's much, much, much riskier to sign a high priced FA as so many move to other teams and bust out. Julio Jones is proven right here on the Falcons, so resigning him to a huge contract is nowhere near as risky as signing a high priced FA WR from another team. The trade becomes clearer and clearer that TD made an exceptionally wise decision and suggesting it was the reason we had no doth and tanked has been proven false. We tanked because the Sochi g staff lost its way and TD and Smitty were no longer on same page.
pzummo
I want to see a 2000 yard season. He needs to average 125 yards per game. Calvin has the record with 1964 yards when he was 26. Julio is 26. Come on Julio, be the first 2k receiver in NFL history!!!Oddly enough, only 17 wide receivers ever put up more yards in a season than Julio did last season... FalconJim
That's a pretty amazing stat! Way to go, Julio!!! And to make some of you who are still "butt hurt", feel a little better about what we gave up to get JJ. ---- not a single one of the Browns picks we gave to them, is even on the team anymore! LOL!!! Of course, you never know how those picks would have worked out for us. But, in my opinion, we got the best end of that deal ---

If Julio can stay healthy, skies the limit. There's no doubt in my mind that if Julio were to stay healthy a full season, he could beat Calvin's season receiving record and win mvp. Psychic Gibbon
He was putting up huge numbers in a scheme that was basically relying on his natural talent for him to get open. Now he has Shanahan's scheme that not only heavily favors the #1 WR but tricks up defenses to get WRs open and loves play action deep balls. This will be a fun season. pzummo
Not for me mate I wanna see #11 and #2 lead us to glory if they do what I suggest the Yards thing will take care of itself.I would rather us win the Super Bowl, without a doubt. I was just saying I would be really happy for Julio and the Falcons franchise if he was the first to get 2000 yards in a season. He deserves owning an NFL record like that with his work ethic and his approach to the game. And the Falcons have enough of the records we would rather not have.Besides, if Julio got 2k, I suspect Matt would be well over 5k passing based on how much he distributes the ball.
