On The Interception

On the pick nearing the end of the 3rd quarter that put the Eagles on the Falcons 8 yard line. There were 6 dbs against 3 receivers. In my book, that's more of a play calling/coaching error that led to that pick, especially going deep. The 3 underneath receivers were one on one.

All on Ryan. Protect the ball and the lead. Especially deep in our own territory. IMO that was the epicenter of the Eagles turnaround. Without that GIFT on the 8, we continue to control the momentum. It was exactly what we didn't need and exactly what Philly needed. Thankfully we go the W.

Then Matt should have checked to a run play. You can't throw that pick.

You are up 20-3 and its the start of the 3rd quarter. You can afford a three and out. You can't afford to give the other team life by throwing a pick. Taking the sack there helped the team out more.

Especially when you have Bosher drilling rockets for 50+

That was the first drive of the 3rd qtr. He actually had Roddy but the safety snuck underneath. Was a good defensive play and a miscalculation on Matt's part. I like us attacking so even tho I don't like the int I like the mindset

The other team makes plays too. The safety snuck into the area unseen by Matt because he definitely had Roddy in a 1 on 1 situation.

I said the same thing but Matt still can't make that throw. I like Kyle pressing the issue tho. Him and Matt will get more comfortable as the season goes on.

So full of crap lol if Ryan had checked to a run, he would be blasted for being conservative and playing scared. He should have made a better decision with the ball but checking to a run would have gotten him heat as well

I have to think Ryan just did not see Thurmond there for whatever reason. No way he tries to force that ball if he sees the FS lurking underneath.

Looking at the all-22, I got the impression that Ryan though Thurmond was going to be more influenced by Julio's route on the other side of the field. (Corner route)

Thurmond almost bit. But kudos to him. He knew something wasn't right and resisted that urge. Nice play by him.

CONSERVATIVE OR STEP ON THE THROAT. WHICH ONE DO YOU WANT?

we were trying to step on their throat but the play before Toilolo & Coleman both missed blocking Carroll and Ryan couldn't avoid Cox coming up the middle. if Coleman was a little more aware and put a hat on Carroll Matt had Roddy on the edge against Barwin or Toilolo could have leaked out and there was no one ON THAT SIDE OF THE FIELD. don't be surprised if we come back to that play and it's for a huge gain

Yeah that was a bad call and even worse execution.

Backed up near the endzone sitting on a 20-3 lead. The LAST thing you want to do is turn the ball over.

This one was on Ryan, no doubt, it was a bad decision and bad throw.

The Kiko Alonso pick was a Touchdown 99 out of 100 times, not on Ryan, just a freakishly good catch.

That one was still on Matt in the end zone. He put it too low. He knew Kiko was there but threw it low enough for him to get a hand on. He was a little flat or short on a lot of his passes. Results of only having 1 series drives in pre and not playing with his starters against the Dolphins. Hasn't really played game time speed. He'll get it together. It always takes him a few games to get used to his wr's speed. He missed freeman short too. Gotta get used to his speed out in the flats.

Yeah, he even said so. The first one was thrown too low, just low enough for Alonso to track and steal. The second one has a low percentage of getting the first down and he got greedy. It wasn't his best game but Philly actually should get credit. They made some timely plays; fortunately, we did as well.
