kiwifalcon
I haven't seen to many threads about this guy.I thought he called a pretty decent game against the E-gurls.I also thought when he had us rolling we had the E-gurls defense at our mercy.Loved the way he moved #11 around the formation which basically makes him undefendable.Gonads call of the night backed up on our own goal line calls the draw on 3rd down and gets the first.Having faith in giving Coleman the rock in that situation Iloved it and he was rewarded. Guest facelessman07
Impossible. I heard in good faith we shoulda kept Koetter from a revered poster
apl2g
Not completely sold on him yet. Probably the offensive lines fault but something just bothers me about how the offense played in the 2nd half

FentayeJones
Shanny called a good game. For the first time in a long time we were balanced. He did a good job getting the o-line prepared too. I hoped he would have called play action on that last 3rd and 1 though. Mid-Nite-Toker
Running backs got 30 carries...so far so good.
Gumby5
I'm good with everything but those third and one plays. With a good front seven, he needed to apply some deception.
*NiteFalcon*
yea my biggest takeaways from offense was redzone was sketch, 3rd down conversion can be better, and matty needs to avoid some of those bad decisions. Overall Shanahan impressed. I believe he will indeed fix this run game.

Francis York Morgan
Not completely sold on him yet. Probably the offensive lines fault but something just bothers me about how the offense played in the 2nd halfWasn't the play calls imo, it was Ryan, as well as refs calling back so many first downs on screens. blizzard_falcon
The most impressive thing to me was how he stuck to the run in the second half, even though our defense was getting shredded. He knew burning clock and getting our defenders some rest was more important than slinging it downfield every play trying to score.
paulitik
Not completely sold on him yet. Probably the offensive lines fault but something just bothers me about how the offense played in the 2nd halfEvery team running the same or similar system struggled week one. The Seahawks, Broncos, Ravens, Eagles, Saints, Browns. Chemistry will take a couple games. I was all about hiring Kyle Shanahan because it was the system he runs that I think best fit Matt's attributes, and took advantage of our issues running the ball. That said, I was in DC, and worked with people in the Redskins organization at their team hotel the night before games, and talking to people he was not very well liked. He is hard to get along with. He wants to be a head coach, and felt entitled to the Skins gig when his dad retired. The RGIII situation pushed them out. I don't see Kyle here but maybe 2 seasons. Hopefully by the time he's a problem, he'll be a head coach somewhere.
SyCo
at first I was somewhere between pleased and sort of disappointed. but Ive convinced myself it'll take a few weeks for everyone to be fully comfortable. looking at our offensive numbers, then weigh in the discombobulation, bad throws, new cast on oline, poor blocking.. it's hard not to feel excited about the potential
4dabirds
Running backs got 30 carries...so far so good. That's huge considering how last year the team was forced to abandon the run in nearly every game.

Leggggggo
Not completely sold on him yet. Probably the offensive lines fault but something just bothers me about how the offense played in the 2nd halfThis early in the season with a new scheme and players, I think making drastic adjustments at half time will be difficult. I think we stuck to the game plan and the eagles made good adjustments to counter our production. I have a feeling the first half vs second half drop off will continue for possibly the first half of the season until people are a little more comfortable making larger adjustments to the game plan. Ghosts of Glanville
He sold me with that 3rd and long draw. In that spot Koetter calls a bubble screen which nets 4 feet

doveboss26
I was happy with his play calling but really thought we should have continued to pound the rock in the 3rd quarter to start it. First play of the second half we run for 4 yards. Then Matt gets sacked, and then the pick.I was really wanting us to come out and establish the run game and the bootleg. toadfishtom
He called a balanced game as many have already stated.A consistent running game will complement a sound defense and provide play action that must be respected.Good job Kyle. JDaveG
I thought it was a really good debut for Shanny. But please, for the love of God, call some sprint option on the goal line. That play spreads out the defense and makes them defend multiple levels, plus it's a misdirection play. It will open up the run game, too. RunningThePiszOuttaTheBall
I have a lot of confidence in him. I feel like he is on top of the strategic game. I am confident he can do well in the chess match.
kiwifalcon
In this offense not only does Ryan thrive but for me I think we have a star in the making in Tevin Coleman.Imentioned thi in the pre-season about this kid Iloved his tenacity even when the blocking breaks down he very rarely gets tackled for a loss. His speed is next level and doesn't hesitate when he runs between the tackles. If we commit to the run like Shanahan has shown this kid is going to be a star. Phillup11
This is basically Kyle Shanahan's best chance to show the NFL he can be a NFL head coach. I don't think we will see any issues about him similar to his time with the Redskins or Browns. The HC spot here is full and doesn't look like it will be in question anytime soon. If he is smart, he knows his time here is basically to highlight his resume. He has the best supporting cast (QB, WR, hopefully RB soon) he ever had to worked with, and I doubt he will put it to waste. I hope his goal is to help us get to the Superbowl. I highly admire his play-calling. Its always unpredictable, especially compared to last few seasons where I could basically predict each play. ****, I could even predict when the old staff would think they are slick and try to mix it up occasionally. That one drive from the eagles game where the Defense needed time to rest, after the eagles exhausting drive, Kyle Shanahan called some perfect players. The play calling on that drive was straight FIRE. He should be selling mixtapes of the plays from that drive lol.
kiwifalcon
Man after listening to Kyle on the Falcons web page he see's and mentioned why I have seen with regards to Coleman his tenacity making something out of nothing when the blocking breaks down lol good to see I'm seeing what the OC is seeing lol.
