74ice
Get people in the right position/lineupRoddy would start lining up on the right and Ryan would have to correct him to go to the left, I saw him have to do it with White, Hank, Tamme, and both Rbs Just goes to show that guys don't have the offense totally down yetCan't wait till they are rolling by the time we face some division foes
Radiohead
Could just be a symptom of a totally new offensive scheme. Not too worried about it BC just that, Matt Ryan is the QB.

raysnill1
first game.... plus it looked like he was just switching the formation based on the defensive look shows how smart Matt is. there were a few instances where the tackle wouldn't be covered up or there was a free blitzer and Ryan moved a blocker over to pick it up. overall I was impressed with what we accomplished under the circumstances. 74ice
No, people were leaving the huddle going to the wrong side,I'm not talking about moving roddy across the line to see if he's in man, Not complaining, just noticing how long it takes to get the playbook down
pzummo
first game.... plus it looked like he was just switching the formation based on the defensive look No, he was definitely correcting players that were lined up wrong. He did it several times with Nick. He did it with Coleman. I think it was just players not knowing the full playbook. That will improve over time. I was wondering if Matt's 2nd INT was due to running the wrong route, because the WR was way too deep for that pass. Oh well, we got the W, will never know anyway. va2gafalcons
I noticed 2 play action plays where matt went to fake the hand off and Coleman was not there. He had already ran to the left side of the line to help block

The other looked like just a bad pass from ryan but if i recall he was being pressured on the second one. The first one was to wide open roddy just had to put a fair amount more of a lob and easy six i love this team.
dmo_dlo
It's one thing for Ward to be confused, but Roddy? Come on man
MAD597
just shows how good Ryan is. He has had the same amount of time learning the new offense and is good enough to direct others player on what to do.

Geneaut
New playbook for almost everyone on the O. Factor in Matt getting yanked early in preseason Game 3 as well reducing his time to practice under game conditions, and you have to come away impressed Matt was able to keep the Offense moving as well as we did. Direct me to it and I can gif it.Ryan always does nonsense like this though lol. Remember that comeback game against the panthers a couple years ago where he threw that bomb to roddy? He did a play action motion when there was no one to hand the ball to
aerosmith67
It's one thing for Ward to be confused, but Roddy? Come on man He played well considering he missed most of the preseason. He needs to get that Tony G contract ASAP. Limited Preseason!

Guest Mr Plow
This point illustrates the difference between a successful college QB and a successful NFL QB as much as any. In college, you can get by with pure talent and athleticism. In the NFL, you have to be intelligent and be the field general. That is exactly what Matt is. kevykev21
Great Julio stat in that gif....last season 31 receptions gaining 20+ yards (3rd most over last 25 seasons).

Direct me to it and I can gif it.players are trained to forget about the play action with a free blitzer.... had he stepped up and took the PA Ryan would've been creamed... that was smart of Coleman!!
