youngbloodz
that was a penalty if we are being honestI looked at that play and he didn't use a linemen. Unless he can't get a running start and jump
jdawg4876
no one expects kroy to keep up with sproles but that attempted tackle on murray near the end zone was pathetic
youngbloodz
As long as he doesn't contact the O-Lineman, it's legal. Kam Chancellor did it last year.exactly.
primetime
The exact same play happened to Connor Barwon but because it was under thrown slightly to freeman he gets praised by the commentators. Just relax people mismatches occur all the time and in a few weeks that will be Brooks Reed out there and Biermann will be back on the bench. The question you need to ask yourself is would Tyler Starr have played any better covering sproles or Murray? I swear the Biermann hate is just like an automatic response these days without any thought process on the actual play itself.

Door Gunner
We all get it. If Beasley had done exactly the same thing you would credit him for winning the game single handedly, but since it was Kroy who you hate you not only refuse to give him same kudos but instead talk about other plays such as why he gave up a downfield pass I. Single coverage on a running back who runs a 4.41 40./Thread

papachaz
"Directly responsible"No dude, in order for him to have been directly responsible, he would have needed to actually block the kick, which he did not.Biermann's effort to jump the line and get his hands up was great, but overall, on defense Biermann was getting abused and missing tackles and playing awfully.I'd almost bet that when Kroy got home last night, he checked all his closets and under the bed to see if he could find sproles, Lord knows he couldn't find him on the field..... Oldskooler
Cant believe people are trying to give a player, who had one of the worst defensive performances Ive saeen in a while, a pass for almost blocking a fg. lol. "He missed it because he was kicking it away from Kroy"? lmao.. Kickers aren't even looking at shizz like that..Theyre focused on the ball. Not to mention that kicker isn't very good to begin with..I think Chip Kelly's failure to use a timeout to give Parkey time to set up properly had way more to do with the miss than anything Kroy Biermann did. ATLFalcons11
That was cool. What's illegal is using a dlineman to get your hands up. For instance, you jump on his back to help you jump higher. His hands were down and once he was cleared the lineman THEN he put his hands up. In other words you can't block a kick if you use a lineman as a spring board with your hands up. Am I explaining it clearly? I don't know if I'm giving a good enough example. You are correct. You can place your hands on his back to jump over him but you can't jump on him to gain height and since Kroy attempted the block after he touched the ground and rejumped then it was a legal play. FalconJim
I hope Schofield is alright. What a nightmare it would be if these players with a history of injuries, all of a sudden start falling like flies! That would be 2014 all over again ---So, good luck Scho, and stay well, PLEASE! kiwifalcon
So coaches ask a defensive end to single cover a running back who runs a 4.41 40 against a downfield pass , and you blame the defensive end for giving up the pass.Okay dude, whateverThats correct man thats the weakness of our scheme the dink and dunk death by a 1000 cuts in NE's case.Agreed man Sproles against anyone of our LBers or Safties 1 on 1 is a handful and for fans to say Biermann has to cover this guy exactly like you say please some of our fans need to go have another look. If we're talking about the same wheel route

If we're talking about the same wheel routeI disagree that the throw needed to be perfect. It needed to be abead. Ryan threw it behind him and that's the only reason Connor Batwing even defended it because Connor Batwing had given up the idea of defending the pass that's why he dove.Even tho Matt didn't play a great game he still had a decent Stat line but I like to call it how I see it. He threw a few that should have been picks and missed that TD to Roddy as well as the pass to Freeman. If he puts a little more air on both they are TDS and the talk is about how we blew Philly out. That's encouraging as if there's one guy I'm confident in its MR2. There are plenty of liabilities to hate on Beirmann about, no need to make things up.I get the point your making, but in the end if his assignment was to cover a guy and he failed multiple times, should he have the job? I think folks are reacting to him still being given the duty despite failing continuously. I for one never thought him to be very good in coverage. To me he's an over hyped STer and limited/emergency rotation guy. There's a play I remember against the Saints where he got a pass deflection on Jimmy Graham (Ala Connor Barwin) and was credited with making a good play. But I thought it to be a bad throw. He's mediocre. That missed tackle on the goal line was in excusable. He was lined up perfectly but Kroy took a horrible angle and a simple hesitation sent him flying. There is no excuse for that. And it seemed like he was being targeted. aerosmith67
that was a penalty if we are being honestIt's only a penalty if it's called, Roddy has pushed the boundary of pushing off for years but that gets overlooked quite a bit around here and during the games.
