Yet again we collapse in the second half and blow a big lead and have to rely on the other team to screw up to escape. How can it be that we have completely different coaches and many different players but still look the same in the second half. Soft defense with no blitzing. Bone headed third on one at a crucial time of the game and all we can dial up is a run play sideways that has no chance. Why Why Why was Kroy Bierman in for most of the second half. He is nothing but a liability and tonight he almost cost us the game single handedly. Beasley is young and should be able to play more in the second half than he did. It was obvious at times the defense new where the play was going but Matt never audibled to another play. Don't mean to sound negative but the pain of seeing huge leads get erased all over again concerns me greatly. Tatf is the only place in the world I would have to say this.We have a new defensive scheme, new offensive scheme, and a patch work offensive line. Ryan didn't play his best game and we we're going against a legitimate contender. Every card in the deck was stacked against us and we still won. We didn't just win our defense looked dominant at times while our offense was sputtering. Read that one more time. OUR DEFENSE carried us for part of the game.I'm not reading too much into anything after week 1 but I seriously don't understand some of you guys. It can work to your advantage when you're the most conditioned team in the NFL. Our defense did just enough to keep us in the game and we were able to keep the lead. We were also able to apply some pressure towards the end of the game and that eventually contributed to the eventual interception by Ricardo Allen. Remember before the game how they were supposed to run all over us. We got good pressure at times and we ran for over 100 yards. Yes, we had some protection issues in the second half when Philly started attacking our middle blockers and started stacking the box and blitzing and yes we missed some key 3rd down run blocks, but this line has been together for what, 8 days now? Chester looked really good. So did both tackles. Our left guard got beat a couple of times, but actually didn't look horrible. Center was the only position that had issues and this is the first game. When they had to play at a more reasonable pace, most of first half and final drive, we ate them up. Our D is going to look pretty good against NYG, who looked really sloppy last week. Quinn saw His defense getting tired and took control of Kyle and ran for first down after first down to give defense rest. I saw a number of times there was a remarkable improvement in coaching over previous coaches. As for the rest of the boards, if you can't be happy for this win, a win no one said we would get, versus a really good team (One you'll see in the playoffs), then go pull for the bucs. Quinn keeps it simple. He did the same in Seattle. They did the same thing in the first half. Philly just picked up their tempo in the second half. The TO's didn't help because the D started getting tired. Still it's a great sign because that's a high powered offense we kept in check.
